First time curing, funny smell.

Do Si Dos
Hung and dried for 7 days at 55% rh
Trimmed and jarred. Burping daily.
5 days in jars so far and it smells like bud coffee.
I get a main smell of a plant like coffee smell.
What’s going on here?
 
I get a pleasant hint of fresh roasted coffee beans with my Auto BlueBerry Domina. Terpene thing I reckon.
 
Jarred too early, should smell like bud only stronger because the smell built up whilst jar was closed. Looks a little brown also but could ve my screen.

Poor lighting, I can take another later. I would have imagined the hang time was good enough.

No after seven days it will still taste green as it only just dried, wait for that taste to dissapear and its proper taste come through before jarring.

Learn to dry properly so you have tasty smoking great bud, until that point you shouldnt jar and once youve learnt this you wont need to jar if you dont want to.

The cure is an extra step, dont need it, learn to hang bud long enough that it is fully done and ready to sell or smoke and you wont fuck the cure up when you do it.

2 weeks 14 days, its written in most of the old advice before these boards became swamped with boveda and humidity brosxience.

Hang till its taste comes through and it smokes like tasty ass bud, you can just sample some after its dried to see the taste coming through in a big way.

Ignore the cure, you need to sort that dry out get some good bud before jarring is even used.

No worries, the cure is complete hype, 90% of everything is in your ability to dry properly and produce amazing smoke. Hang till its ready, hang till your friends are smoking it saying wow, hang till flavour stops building, do not hang and expect that to happen by day 7 then jar as it makesca million of these threads asking why bud smelt off after jarring.
