First time Easy Ryder CFL grow! Hope i get to smoke 60 days from now :D

So i ordered the seeds from attitude and received them without any problems on 22nd of feb. Planted her on the same day.(Just 1 easy ryder)

She surfaced on the 27th so i take that as Day 1.

unfortunately the pics from day 1 to day 6 are with another friend but i could not wait any longer to share my first grow with all of you!

So here is Day 7 -






Grow room - 48'' x 48'' x 78'' tent with mylar coated walls

Lighting - 3 x 42watt 6500k daylight Cfl and 1 26watt 6500k as of now

and i plan to add 1 27watt soft white 2700k for the veg cycle.

I will switch out the daylight for soft whites from day 21 onwards for flowering and use the 6500k's as side lighting.

Im trying the buy the equipment to setup my tent nicely as an when i get cash. As of now my main focus is to get an exhaust fan(i heard inline is not really necessaary as the negative pressure created by the exhaust would be enough) and the Y-splitters for my cfl.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, this is my first ever grow and i want it to go as awesomly as possibly .

PS: I have to say i have learnt an amazing load about everything from loads of people on this website. Ive spent most of the last 5 months just reading through posts and journals after journals! Thankyou rollitup and this amazing community

is that foam covering your lights? first thing is first that shit will catch fire get rid of that

Oh crap really? Id just used thermocol for the time being to stop the lights from touching each other untill i could get the splitters but Thanks a lot i will do that at once.

Holy shit! Lucky you caught that quick like! Dont forget about a proper dry. So maybe 67 days! Haha that is if it finishes in 60.

Hey man, good luck with your first grow and enjoy the journey. I'm on my second grow and I'm actually growing an Easy Ryder right now. She's on day 7 as well. It will be interesting to compare our girls throughout the grow. Are you running your lights on a 20/4 schedule?

Looks like some good little seedlings!
Make sure you get your 6500K cfl's nice and close so they can soak up all the goodness. Also, I think maybe you might need more than 27watts of 2700K by around day 25 as it will be putting all its energy into flowering and they like the 2700K CFL at that stage the most . Btw I am on my first grow too! at day 39 now with an autoassassin autoflower.

keep them at 20/4 for best results. they need lotx of light i am using 1000w per 40 and pull 1 1/2 oz per plant. they also need a good air flow

Ive immediately removed the foam and changed the setup a lil bit so that the CFL's are crowding around the seedling. They're about 2 1/2 inches away and theres a fan blowing inside the room. Unfortunately it stopped rotating(mustve damaged it while transporting) so i will buy another small fan to blow regularly on the leaves.

My exhaust fan is arriving tomorrow too!

@stealthassassin - yep! Im adding 1 27watt flowering cfl in a couple o days then at day 21 i will change to all(there will be 5 on top) to 2700k cfls and use the 6500k's for side lighting .
Dude!! i was really contemplating between this(ER) and autoassassin for my first grow, let me know how it goes im excited for you too the plant looks and sounds superb

@bcguy - Do you think i should start off with 20/4 right away? Quite a few of the journals i read said 24/0 for the first 16-18 days with good results but almost as many said 20/4 from seed so im a little bit confused. Would 20/4 be a safer bet? This grow for me really is about just looking at the entire process and see that fruit form and get to smoke from it, so im not really looking at quantity as such!

they need the light 20/4 all the way they finsh fast so they need the light . u also need lots of air flow they need the CO2 add as much light as you can as well. I got my beans from a guy who has been growing them for years and has it down to a science. I am trying mine in flower beds with super soil.

does it get crowded the 40 plants per light?

kinda its 40 in a 5.5 x 5.5 area. I use every square inch I am about to put a light rail up and run 2000w on it over 80 in a 11 x 5.5 area.

ah ok got ya. was thinking in 5x5 or 4x4. love me some eazy ryder! if i could get that many seeds id run a similar setup!

im up to day 36 with mine and she is starting to fill out. hoping to get close to an oz off her.

i ran mine of 24/0 for the first few weeks mainly because i didnt have a timer at the start.

ive got close to 500w of CFL running and the temps outside are hitting 35C at the moment, so i need to turn the lights off so the box doesnt get too hot.

anyway, im subbed

Easy Ryder is the first thing I ever grew You're going to really like it, it smells super fruity and has a sugary taste to it. Only sad part was that I only got half/oz.
