First time grow setup

So I've been looking into growing as the start of a new hobby (i like smoking pot, why not learn how to grow it amirite?) and need some advice from all the pros. If anything I understand the general concept of growing and what needs to be done, but I'm somewhat close to figuring out what I need to set this up. I'm looking into a stealth grow in my closet, this will be achieved by growing in a homebox L. Here's what I'm looking into:

As far as pricing goes, I'd rather not skimp on any components only having to upgrade to something better.

That stuff looks good, but not enough info in your post.

How big is your growing area? Are you going to be doing dirt or hydro? Have your nutrients figured out?

A few other things you'll be needing:

Thermometer with a humidity reading.

Intake fan (can be a slightless less CFM rating) there are some good inline ducting fans that are cheap.

timer(s) (you'll need two for hydro, just one for dirt)

If you dont wanna skimp than why not invest in a HID lamp? Or is your closet too small to feel safe using that? Id never tell anyone to go the unsafe route.

hi guys, thanks for your suggestions. my closet is kind of small, its a walkin but all its going to house is the homebox L which I'll be growing in. also my plan is to use the negative pressure concept within the homebox L - this will only require one outake fan so i'm not going to need two of them. also this will be a soil based grow. the timers and stuff are packaged with the light, so i'm not going to need to purchase that seperately.

my soil of choice was based on some downloaded pdf i came across. it suggested i use fox farm ocean forest mixed with perlite, and for nuts ill be using grow big and tiger bloom.

any more suggestions?
