This is my first ever plant. The very top buds look to be getting a light case of bud rot. It has been very moist here lately and I’m growing outdoors. I’m limited resources on this grow, but what can I do?
There was some poop on a few of the leaves. Since I’m still a few weeks away from harvest and have the equipment, I did a light mosquito spray with my backpack mister around the whole area and lightly across the plant. They had really gotten into my rose bushes as well. Next year I’m definitely doing this indoors!!!I don’t think weather is your main problem... That looks to me like signs of catapillars. Is there small black droppings around the buds? I think I see poop in one of the pictures If so you better get out there ASAP with tweezers and start looking for small catapillars. They can be tiny. Green, brownish, or grayish colored normally. And can be really hard to spot Because most the time they don’t move and can blend in really well with the buds and leaves. If you don’t get on it now you WILL lose your crop. Take it from me. If I didn’t jump on it when I first noticed I would have lost my crop to those bastards. Got them under control with only about an oz post to them. Good luck man it’s almost never ending and very frustrating. Hopefully it’s not too bad and you can save some of your yield by putting in the extra work.
So, my mosquito spray didn’t seem to have much effect on the little bastards. I went out this morning while it was still dark and picked off about 8 with a pair of tweezers. They are hard to see as they really blend in. I am moving the plant up to my concrete parking pad tonight to see if that makes a differenceThere was some poop on a few of the leaves. Wow!!! Thanks for your advice. I have since moved it inside for the last week or so before harvest and have been checking it over with a flashlight and tweezers at least twice a day. So far I have picked off about 24 caterpillars. I think that’s all, since I haven’t found any more in a day or two, but will continue lookingAfter spending 2 weeks being out there for an hour every morning and evening I’ve removed and killed 50 or more of them between two plants.. even still finding some here and there.. if this is your problem. Next year definitely make sure to keep on top of your preventative maintenance. It’s so heartbreaking to get through the season strong just to see your buds falling apart at the very end.
