I ave just started my 1st grow n i am beginning with Alaskan Ice i hope i have ave picked a good 1, My room is 12x7x8 n it is covered in ADF Mylar as this is 95% reflective.
I ave got the bubblepot system which is set up but not yet connected, a 4" extractor fan with carbon filter & a 18" cooling fan as the heat in my room is already 30degrees.
I seeded 25 Alaskan ice for 48hrs n then put then in rockwool into a propagator only 20 of theses have gone into the propagator which are now on day 3 the rest ave not done anythink so i am assuming they r dud 1s,
I have noticed that there is 10 of these which r now 1-1.5" high ave got brown tips on there leaves does any1 no why this is???:?

Are you using some type of fertilizer? Don't. Seeds have all the nutrients they need to get to 4 full leaves and 2" tall easily before you even begin to give very mild nutrients. As they age more then you start to ramp up the nutrients, but not while they are little seedlings. If the room is too hot it will also do that, all they need is some flourescent lights not some hot HID's until they are plants rather than seedlings.

Oh well its on day 15 propagation & today is the 3rd day I have took the propagation lid off it will be for an hr & half today so they can gently be hardened off seems to be working & strengthening the stems to scared to look at the roots just yet:roll: will leave it a couple more days I had a couple of plants going very dry looking so I have been misting them with plain water but I am debating on mixing some rhizotonic to mist them with.
They are growing a lot slower than I expected has any1 else grown Alaskan Ice because I would b very interested to know how they went on with there grow;-)

Well 2day ive pretty much had enough im on day 16 of the propagation & i ave just mixed 1ltre of ph 5.0 water to 2mls rhizotonic & dipped the bottom 1cm of the rockwool into the solution I bottled the rest & misted them over 6.30pm UK time I took the lid of the propagator & switched the fan & extractor on which I will leave off for 2hrs then I will mist them again before the lid goes back on, They havent grown at all which is really frustrating & I have just binned 3 of my little 1's because they were brown & crisp, I dont no what im doing wrong can any1 please please help im down to 15 little 1's out of 25 now:-(:-(:-(:-(:-(

A few questions.

What are your 6400k's lumen output?

what nutes are you using?

why you are keeping them in the humid dome?

when you give them an hr or so with the lid off do they start to droop at all?

if not get them out of there. cuttings that are rooting and seeds that haven't cracked the surface are the only ones that benefit from the extreme humidity & heat. Of course this is just my perspective but I have never left seeds in a humid dome after they broke the surface or cuttings after they have rooted (and are acclimated to the normal surrounding air temp).

also is the distance your lights are in the pics above actual distance or were they raised for pictures? drop them close to your plants, it looks to be over 1+ft above your plants. The usable light from cfl or floro's should be considered 0 from distances of more than a ft.

In no way shape or form am i saying anything bad about your grow at all so please don't think that.

And i am sorry x100 if you stated your nutes, light lumen output above as i tend to speed read then stair at the porn :p

Really appreciate that input m8 im not offended at all
My light is 600w envirolite if that means anything to you & yeh it is about 1.5ft above the plants but will have to keep it at that til 2moz as its the lowest link on the chain.
I have used Rhizotonic today only 2ml to 1ltre of water that is ph 5.0 i dipped the ends of the rockwool in & have been misting them every 2hrs its alwost like having new borns in the house again:roll:
Yeh they do appreciate the open more so I have just took the dome off them & will leave it like that for 2nite but I carnt get my temp below 32 which I do think is contributing towards the problem.
Im a bit concerned about the root mass as its very minmal the tap root is great n growing really long but mass is hardly there thats why I used the rhizotonic today:-(
I want to put them in the bubblepot system but think they are too small what is your opinion as I thought they had to have good root mass.
Thanks again for your input kiss-assas its my 1st grow & to be honest ive picked the alaskan ice which I think now was a bad move:cuss:

hey loopy man i have done 3 grows with alaskan and it is a awesome pukka wicked hardcore smoke
if your 600watt halide is 1.5 ft above then its way too close you should have it at least 3 ft or get cfl
my method has been to soak cotton wool pad in a glass through seeds in put in kitchen draw day and half normally theres a root about 1.5 cm long then put in to cube (no feed yet just water) into propagator 1 week max forget all this rubbish about building a root ball before you take them out
after the first week and the leaves are starting give a very weak mix of food twice a day for 5 days (this should be 2 weeks after you opened packet roughley) straight into grow system veg for another six weeks to get a 2 foot bush and pop under a hps for 9 weeks and you should get 4-9 oz dry from each plant oh yeah i must suggest that you look at OVERDRIVE by advanced nutes as i can say oh my god!! just follow instructions
dont cut down early cos alaskan gets real big real late i will never stop using it

dont give up it is worth it
Im gutted now coz I pulled them all yesterday coz they werent looking healthy at all infact they had gone past the point of no return:sad:
The 600w envirolite that I use is blue spectrum & when I bought it the instructions said it can b as close as 3-5cms from the plant, I think I over done it in the propagator n dried them owt to much:?I am a 1st timer at this so its trial n error but I have started some LSD, Blue Hash, Rocklock, Roadrunner & ww last nite so 2nite I shud b able to put them in my rockwool 2nite.
I added a very small dose of super thrive, formulex & roots exculerator to the rockwool last time do u think i just put the pre soaked seeds straight in without doing this & leave the light off for 7days, your help is appreciatedkiss-ass
