first time outdoor grower

i live in northern virginia just outside of DC. I want start my first grow this upcoming spring. When is the earliest i can start? What strain would you guys recommend. I'm going to be growing in a woodsy area. How is early misty for beginners?

I am in n.e. ohio and I will move my shit outside around the last week in april and pray we are beyond frost and as far as what strain, that depends on you. there is a section on seed strain on this site I believe that might help you there. make sure you get a strain that will be ready for harvest before cold frosty weather returns. where you're at, the season should go well into november. some stains require a longer growing period than others.

I'm up in the Boston area and getting ready to start my second grow. Had a plant last year that died of shock when I had to move it because of some nosy neighbors. The woods wood be a good spot, that's where I'm growing my garden. Just make sure you buy one of those metal wire fences so no animals will get to it. You can do some research on the preferred bug repellents and all that. As far as when to start growing, I'm gonna start mine indoors this week and move them outdoors by early/mid April.

there is one problem though for me. I can't start them indoors. Is there anyway i can just germinate the seed and immediateley plant it in the woods where i'm going to grow it?

tha's a tad early for me. mid/last of april for me to be sure!

I'd say maybe. if possible, germinate indoors and then put out. I'm no expert on that method. I get mine so high (8''-12'') and then harden them off to adapt to outside 24-7
