This is my first grow and i had a few questions on my setup i was hopin someone could help me with...

First, I'm in quite a large closet, but am only taking up got a small portion. Smell is no issue. Temp is around 70. I have 250 w hps/mh hydrofarm light w/ built in balllast (only planning to focus on one or two to start w/). I have white sheets covering the walls..is this enough reflection or should i go with mylar? Completely new at this...any advice would be greatly appreciated.

-Thanks.:leaf:

Mylar is great if you can get your hands on it. Sounds like you're doing really well though. So does the built-in ballast cause any heat issues at all?

...you can just simply paint the walls flat white. Your sheets, or any clothes in a grow area can be a host to all sorts of things.

I tried mylar but ended up taking it down in favor of white walls. Your setup is good, the temp is spot on, the only thing next is to choose your strain. Pick one that doesn't branch out. A single cola is easier to work with and you might be able to fit in four plants.

My best advise is since your using a 25o get your light as close as possible to your canopy. I used to have a sun system 250 with the built in ballast and it never got hot. I keep a fan blowing across my canopy and on a good day my light was 6- 8 inches away from tops and never burned them. Always keep a thermometer up with your canopy level close to the bulb. If your temps get higher than 85 then raise your light few more inches

Heat def not a prob, stays really cool. Jack, an Maui seeds otw as we speak. Walls havent been dry-walled... its a basement...so il probably have to go with the mylar. I plan to get a cheap peat tray moisture dome w/e and can i just leave it under the kitchen light? if not ive got some flouros somewhere?

You can get cheap mylar, albeit thin, in the form of emergency blankets from Walmart, in the camping section (less than $3 each) or purchase online. You're better off getting a CFL or two to start your babies on - 6500K for veg.
