Fixing long internode spacing on clones

Hey guys, just picked up some tahoe OG clones, and they are a little more lanky than i would like. Healthy, but lanky. I'm confident all the new growth will be nice and tight, but there is about 4 inches of main stem i could do without.. I was thinking i would just trim off the small branches at the bottom and bury it when its time to move to 5 gallon pots. But is there another way? If i LST them can i get some branches sprouting out the sides? Any input is appreciated. Thanks

yes you can. lst the main stem to the side carefully and move the light closer to the bottom of the stem
