Flower development rates in individual plants

(Sorry, this is actually a double posting. I put it up in "General Growing", but figured I'll also post it in this sub-group. Pls excuse the repetition.)
=========
When a plant is in full flowering, and there are buds developing at each node as well as the main cola, do all the buds develop at the same rate? Or do some ripen first?

I don't imagine they all are at the same stage of development, much as fruit on a tree don't all ripen at the same time. But the operative word in that sentence is imagine. I don't know.

Does anybody here?

im sure the main cola ripens a little faster than the rest of the buds, i have harvested some of my plants in steps, by chopping the main cola first and allowing the lower buds to get a few more days of direct light. and also once 3 days before harvest i trimmed all the fan leaves off so the buds could get more light and bulk up a little more. I'd just look at them real close everyday and do what you think is best for that individual plant.
