My plant is at 6 weeks of 12/12 and it is growing nicely, but i was looking at some of the pictures on this site, and it looks like some people pluck the large fan leaves, leaving just the buds. i was just curious

I think you should only trim the leaves if they are getting in the way of the light that is trying to reach the bud sites. I know some people trim the bottom foliage to make clones, but as far as I know if you pluck leaves you are reducing the amount of chlorophyll that the plant can store which is not a good thing. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

i personally don't trim anything. i believe trimming adversely effects the health of my ladies. i try to bend and move the fan leaves so the buds are out front getting maximum light while the leaves can still photosyn-t-s-a-k------i can't spell.

haha.. close enough. Yes I agree, bending and/or tying the leaves back is a much safer bet.

P.S. - In response to your signature line, shunkan, I believe the day is January 1, 1980.
