I would just stick with a good HPS light with a good reflector. I find the 600w HPS to be the most efficent and the most effective lights in the market! So if you can my friend. Try get this light. You can pick them up for $100

yes its actulybetter. but keep in mint that you want more red then blue. example i am running a 1000wtt hps anda 400wtt mh in my flower room. in fact the way have these lights comeing on is the mh and fans come on 1/2 be4 the hps to simulat the sun coming up in the morning and the gets brighter. then when the lights go out the hps goes out first and 1/2 latter out goes themh and fans.:bigjoint:

like england123 said, 600 or even 400 watt hps and call it a day. its prolly gonna be hard to get much more out of your plants unless you r doing some really advanced shit. just keep it simple. and hps vegged my clones nicely btw.
