Flowering time, What to do?

Im wondering is there anything special your suppose to do to your plants to flower them? Any kind of Trimming?

give them high phosphorus fertilizer, and no trimming

I give my babies 36 hours of total darkness before kicking the lights over to 12/12. I've read that this helps the internal clock of the plant
