Flowering using MH and CFL

So my question is this. I have a small LST going on at the moment just going into week two of flowering had to over come some heat issues everything seems to be going good. I chose a 400 watt mh for flowering because of research I've done seeing how the quantity of bud seems better using MH you just lose out in weight... I also have a 125 watt cfl 2700 or 3000k spectrum producing an extra 8,000 lumens. I've looked and looked for people using a similar set up like this but can't find anything. I'd just like to know if the extra lumens from the flowering spectrum should help pack on some extra weight for the plant. That was my theory. I know it won't be HPS weight. If anyone has any knowledge please let me know. This is my first time flowering with MH but am very curious to see if what others have said, some very experienced, is legit about the lighting color being great for thc production you just lose out on weight.

I'm pretty sure the focus is always more light = more bud, so the answer is yes, you should have some thick buds if everything goes well and the plant grows successfully. From what I've read, Metal Halide's are more known for producing the cool blue white light which is best for vegetative growth. High Pressure Sodium's are known more for their warm yellow/orange/red light, which is excellent for flowering. But, you can use either MH or HPS throughout the whole grow and they will still produce bud. 2700K-3000K CFL's are more for flowering since they put out more of a warm white rather than the cool white of a 5000K or 6500K. IF you can, try to find a few extra 6500K CFL's, they will work best for vegetative. When it comes time to switch to 12/12, change out the bulbs to the 2700-3000K, they work best for flowering.

There is a reason the sun emits blue and white spectrum lighting in June, and yellow/orange in Fall when cannabis flowers.

There is also a reason you are having difficulty finding other growers using MH *by themselves for flowering...we don't do it. That plant isn't even noticing that lone CFL, as the MH is overpowering. Mixed spectrum for flowering is OK, but you really need that HPS bulb.

If you want larger yields, do it like nature outdoors and decrease your light incrementally as opposed to simply flipping the switch to 12 hours.

Peace

I already know this. I was asking if anyone has used the set up before the reason I am using MH is because it produces higher quality bud. The mh produces UVB or something of the sort and it always makes frostier better quantity bud. I am just curious if anyone has tried adding in a higher wattage bloom light and what there results were. I have a HPS but am testing a theory out that I've seen first hand work well when it comes to quality not quantity flowering with the MH. I was just thinking if I add a 125 watt 8000 lumen red spectrum light it may help out with more quantity. I had the same thinking more light more bud. Just wanted some first hand experience from anyone that's tried it

Yeah I actually am thinking of doing that with decreasing incrementally.. But would you drop below 12/12 just like late fall where the days are shorter? I just don't know if the plant can tell the difference with light being shorter days etc. I'm doing a scrog next grow and will determine whether or not to use my hps by how much weight I pull off this. I only grow for my wife and I own smoke. I am trying to limit it to two runs a year. I'm thinking if I like the results from the MH and cfl grow ill do one of those and a HPS grow next time to maximize weight. Goal next grow with the HPS is pulling 7 plus oz off my scrog. Ill let you know how this grow goes as in quality and end weight. Thanks for the advice
