Think of fan leaves as solar panels...they collect light to power the plants growth. It's best to avoid cutting fans - just tuck them in if you feel the need to uncover areas that seem to be shaded. When your girl is done with a fan leaf, it will fade and begin to die, then it can be easily plucked off the plant without much effort. If a fan is green and in a healthy state, it's doing good for your plant...

Yes I understand that, I have noticed threads of people trimming off the excess leaves to get more light to bud.
I am just going to let it keep growing, I don't think I could even trim her because I have seen how bad a "little" trim can get haha.
Thanks.

Those threads sound like they are full of disinformation. heres the biggest thing-leaves look alot more solid to us than they are, only about 15% of the light that hits a leaf is used by that leaf and 85% of it keeps going. cutting off a fan leaf to stop it from shading a bud site would only very slightly increase the amount of light the budsites gets.(since it gets 15% of all the initial light and not 15% of what was left of the original light after the fan leaf took its 15%. fan leaves are much more effecient making energy as well so the bud will do less with more energy still.
