flushing ebb and flow

whats up errybody how many days before i harvest is the standard to switch to plain water? i think i heard 7days plain water for hydro and 10-14 for dirt . . anybody have good results flushing fewer days? im using flood drain set up

It depends entirely on your medium, and how much nutrients it holds. For aeroponics, where there is no medium, plain water for 3 days should flush any excess nutes from the plants. If there is some retention to the medium, then you need to flush that well first.

AHHH that makes sense. ..im using expanded clay for my medium, ive had to flush it so many damn times from toxic salt build up . . .so if i flush the medium really good u think 3-5 days should be plenty?

Yep, that should do it. Once you flush the medium, you'll see an overall reaction from the plant. The foliage will lighten in color, and the fading colors of autumn will start to show.

i have the same setup as yours with the clay pellets and i have not had to flush built up salts once. is it because i use diff nutes than you or what?

im using g.h. 3part flora series . . .im pretty sure ive read about other ppl havin the same prob with it onn forum somewheres .. what nutes you usin?

right on . .yeah idk about botanicare but im pretty sure g.h. has salt buildup more than average. .i mean like i need to flush every 2 weeks

really i use gh as well and i havent had to flush it one time. im also using abunch of other stuff as well thou.

I use clay pellets as well, and they suck up so much water that every week and a half I have to add water because it gets too low for the pump. I don’t ever flush, and all I use is BC 3 part with all the boosters
