  • This is my first time flushing with a DWC system. I wanted to know if you can just flush for ten days with water, or should i buy a flushing product like Final Phase? I read that flushing products contain things that suck salts and metals out of the bud so it taste fresh. I would like to flush with just water but if a small bottle of Final Phase is the difference between regular bud and dank nugz then ill go with a flushing product!!

It's not the buds that hold the nutrients it's the leaves. The better your trim job the less harsh of a taste you'll have. I generally run Clearex for about 5 days and I'm good to go.

Check your ppms. I find that the strain I grow pretty much stops taking nutes in the last 3 weeks anyway. All I'm adding is plain water at that point. So you might not have to go on deliberate flush.

If you're talking about reducing harshness...yes, you want to do a good trim job, as slow a dry as possible and a slow, 6-week cure. My process is so low and slow that my trim is less harsh to smoke than any street weed I've ever had. By the time I'm done I've added about 2 months to the seed-to-smoke timeline (10-14 days for the dry, 6 weeks for the cure), but I have the most beautiful smoke I've ever had access to.

EDIT: just reread your original post -- that bottle of fabricated flush won't make as much of a difference as the slow dry/cure.

what about organic flavor additives during the flush? dude at the grow shop was telling me how he uses a grape flavoring on his purple indicas that works wonders to the finished bud
