Flushing

I'm about to start myself and I'm under the impression that all the final flush is, is just water as usual w/ no nutes for the last 7-10 days.

A flush is actually-watering with 2 times the volume of your pot size and lowering your PPM's in your medium to under 200ppm however not everybody does it the same..lots of people have success with using plain water the last 2 weeks or so instead of flooding their medium to flush out built up nutrient solution and salts..IMO a flush is more then that..plants take in more water the last 3weeks of flower so a flush actually helps to ripen the buds.

ok i need to flush my plants soon. they are in soil....how do i go about th:eyesmoke:is?
You can do a couple of things:

*Stop using nutes
*Water more often
*Use a flushing product like Final Phase - Use 2 mL per Liter during the last week of your flowering phase.

From the AN site:

CAN I USE FINAL PHASE TO GET BETTER CROPS IN SOIL?
Absolutely. Just shorten the cleansing wash time from 6 hours to 2 hours and run a lot of water through to ensure full cleansing. Then let your soil dry out so you don't waterlog your roots.

*All of the above, well, kind of.

In the last 7 to 10 days before you harvest, you want to stop what you're doing so that your grow as clear tasting as possible.

Or it just works because plants are crazy like that.

There are also some poeple that think you don't need to flush when you're using soil. I think it's really up to you and what you want to do.

i would just use straight water..every two days or 3days is fine as well..the plants like alot of water at the end of flower, it will help your buds ripen up..just make sure everytime you water its at least the same volume as your pot..so if you have a one gallon pot use one gallon of water..2 gallon pots then use 2 gallons of water AT LEAST

You should start flushing when you have the flower you're looking after, then you don't really know when the trichs are gonna turn the color you want so you have to check every single day previous harvest. You can't go by the 2 week or 7 days rule only. It's true that when you flush the N levels drop and the plant focuses on finishing the existing buds but that happens in the measure you allow her to do so, so be really wary. When using soil I heavily water with botanicare sweet for 10 days tops no h2o2. If hydro I do sweet and clearex for 4 days. I do use H2o2 all the season.
