I've been told I need to flush my plants - they're about 2 weeks off harvest. What does flushing involve and how do I do it????

flush with 3 times the volume of the pot... 5 gallon pot, flush with 15 gallons of water. PH your water first!!!

newtoit is confused that is a flush you would do to get rid of salt buildup or to fix nutrient problems, to do a end of harvest flush just water with ph'd water for the last 2 weeks, no more nutrients during the last 2 weeks. This will allow the plant to use all those fertilizers in the plant so you dont smoke them. Hope this helps...

your both right.......... there are two types of flushing, one is because you fucked up and you need to get rid of nutes in the soil.... and the other is the harvest flush..... the harvest flush is straight ph'd water for the last 2 weeks of the grow (watering normally)
the oh fuck flush is like newtoit says, 3 times the pot size in water: ie 5 gallon pot = 15 gallons of water.

ok lets put it this way if you were to water everytime for the last 2 weeks with 3x pot size you would drown your plant. If your plant is suffering before harvest from salt buildup then sure do a strong flush but just once then water reguarly without nutes for the rest of the 2 weeks. A large flush like that is usually meant for sick plants. Your call though its quite simple from my stand point. hell just using water for the last 2 weeks will get rid of salts and any left over nutes.
