fogger humidifier diy

im having problems with my AC taking too much water out of the air and causing nut burn. has anybody put together a fogging mister system to increase humidity?

For my grow room i bought a small black masonry mixing tub at home depot. I place a small home made drying rack "A" type and covered to top side of each slope with
black plastic mesh. I then place some of that black plastic air conditioner filter material on top of each slope to act as a "wick". Inside the frame I used PVC
pipe for a simple sprayer, using mister heads pointed up and onto each underside of the material. The black five gallon bucket sits just outside the long end of the mixing tub/tray. On top of that is a small electric fan. The concept is simple. The timer turns on for the misting (three minutes), then the fan timer will run for ten minutes blowing on the wet cloth surface. I never have too much water accumalate in the bottom of the top as that too evaporates but you could elevate the tub/tray and have a run off tube drain the water back into the 5 gallon reservoir. It is the same principle of a home humidifier which costs $125.00, this cost me $25.00 as I had an extra
aquarium pump.

hows the ac taking water out of the air?? do you not have it installed correctly? i thought ac units take the humidity from outside, not inside

A triple transducer module with teflon coated discs appears to be what you're looking for, as that'll produce proper fog/mist droplet size that plants seem to enjoy... and it's been done more than a few times. If you're looking for more specific information, and design/blueprints for DIY project.. check out How To Hydroponics 4.1 .. written by Keith Roberto - there's more than a few projects near the end of the book that give flexibility in terms of dimensions of grow space and what you wish to put into your project as a whole - hope this helps.

Well, as interesting as that is.. do you understand the parts list and cost of items + time vs buying one? Unless you're well-versed w/building -stable- transducer modules, odds are you could do something else and more than recover the cost of a quality one.. second question..How do you plan to mix your own teflon? Last I checked, we don't have any with access to a lab capable of doing so in any semi-safe or better capacity.
