For anybody growing White Widow who wonders about stretch after 12/12

I took my final measurements today of my 6 Seedsman White Widows and Delicious Northern Lights Blue.
Plants were grown in FF soil with FF trio nutrients at 1/4 strength until day 30. Vegged for 35 days.
1000w HPS, 75-80 days 62-67 night, RH ~38% during the day and ~50% at night. no training, never measured PH, never any problems...keep it simple

I know when I was planning this, my first grow, I wondered how much my White Widows would stretch. Here is my data in the hopes it helps someone determine what they are going to have to deal with. Grumpy is the NLB, the rest are the Widows.

Final Measurements today

Grumpy - 21.5" - 29" +7.5" (35%) since flowering started 8 weeks ago
Happy - 13.5" - 44.5" +31" (230%)
Dopey - 13" - 48.5" +35.5" (273%)
Doc - 12.75" - 42.5" +30.25" (234%)
Bashful - 10.75" - 34.5" +23.75" (221%)
Sneezy - 10" - 30" +20" (200%)
Sleepy - 9.25" - 36.5" +27.25" (295%)

Most plants stretch another 30%. I'm surprised your not complaining about the nl. That usually stretches in my experience. Never had any issue with my widow. It was actually one of t he easiest plant I have ever grown. Very hardy strain. I almost want to say something is wrong with your garden.

My widows never stretched very much, although i do use supercroppign and topping to create flat plants my widows have never stretched more then 6 inches taller during flower

Makes me wonder if he was sold a different strain. Doesn't sound like any widow I ever seen.

What would be my complaint with the NLB? She's been fantastic. The widows were supposed to double or even triple their height after flowering, thats exactly what they did. I'm not getting what could be wrong with my grow?
Not getting defensive, I'm really interested to know what is going on that is not as it should?
Remember, no cropping, topping, training or anything else, just let them grow. I did try to control stretch by keeping my lamp 16-18" above the canopy.

The NLB was the same height as the 6 widows up to day 20 (~7"). From that point she blew up to 27" by day 40. She only grew a couple inches after that. In contrast the widows blew up around day 40 and only stopped rapid vertical growth 2 weeks ago. The nodes are very compact and the main stem is solid.

id say for untopped plants ur probabl in the right range for stretch, thees alot of strands calling themselves white widow so some variation is to be expected. what are u using for lights?(how much wattage). Plants can stretch more if they are put straigh from 24/0 into 12/12 i personally transition to 12/12 by reducing the light per day by 1 hour ( i veg under 20/4)
pics would help us further critique ur setup

In my experience growing nl was it was a very tall plant. I'm not saying anything is wrong. It just doesn't sound like my experiences. Widow I would describe as a medium size plant. I would usually get mine about 3 ft or shorter. Nl would want to go 5-6 ft. As long as your nodes are less than 1" close together I wouldn't consider that a stretch but growth. I'm sure you are a smart guy but it kinda seems you got the strains backwards. That how it seems. Or its just a different version of widow that I gave never seen. It sucks growing strains so different in height. I usually do a strain per light.

I bought the seeds from Attitude. I bought 6 feminized white widow from Seedsman Seeds and got a freebie Delicious Seeds Northern Lights Blue. Since this is my first grow I have nothing to compare their growth other than other's reporting their experience. So, I don't have the breeds mixed up but it would not be a surprise if Attitude did, maybe they gave me something that wasn't exactly what the breeding report dictates!!!

I'm using a 1000w HPS lamp. 12/12 flower after 18/6 vegging (35 days) under 1000w MH. They are all in 4 gallon pots and their soil is Fox Farm Ocean Forest. The trio line of FF was used but only at 1/4 strength until I increased to full strength on day 35, last day of vegging. The room temps run 75-80 day time and drop to 62-67 night. R/H has been steady at 35-40% day with ~50% at night. It's super dry here in the northeast and my home's R/H is only 9% :o

Here are a couple pictures of the nodes, the first is the White Widow, then the NLB.

The NLB also solo so you can see there's very few leaves but plenty of dense bud.

Some group shots of the growing WW under HPS which makes for shitty pictures..

Here's some bud pictures of the NLB which is being chopped tomorrow.

Very nice first grow! You're a natural. Very impressive you should be real proud. If you ever smoked widow you should be able to tell. Nl is kinda bland on the taste but packs a nice punch.
