Forced 12/12 2 Plants Grow Journal

thanks. the bush's buds got stunted somehow . . . . not really sure how though. they're starting to finish and they're not as big/dense as I'd want them. but they look/smell good. just not hella dense like the other plant.

flushing the stick. giving the bush molasses but will be flushing her too soon.

and the bush: she's acting like she's almost finished. I think she got too much N or something happened to stunt her bud growth. either way I have 9 clones off of her so I'm hoping it was just the conditions and not the strain. if anyone has a clue what happened please let me know..


 
yo man-dropping in too.you got yourself some sweet and sticky bud :). im going to have to auto flower my outdoor WW as well soon.

Hey Mr Ganja. I have a plant growing outdoors in a poly-tunnel that has grown bigger than i had expected, it's extremely bushy and about 5 and a half foot tall. The problem is it isn't showing much flower at all, though the first hairs are starting to come through. I know if I leave it it's going to carry on getting bigger and will soon be pushing up against the polythene of the tunnel.

Today I have made a black polythene sock to put over it to give it a 12/12 light cycle.

I was wondering, how many weeks are you giving your plants this light cycle?
 
it takes over 6 weeks.

and this experiment I'm concluding was not worth it.

I only got about 2 oz total out of both of them.

airy bud but good tasting and good high.

but yeah I guess it's all about outdoors in the ground, or indoors.

That's interesting, the way I have been told to do this is to provide it a 12\12 light cycle for 2-3 weeks, then once it is clearly in the flowering stages the light cycle doesn't need to be moderated. I am not sure this is true, yet I am planning on using this method as an experiment.
 
could be true.... some strains, once they are deep into flowering, don't revert back to veg....and I am talking out of experience.... but I do live 22 degrees north latitude ;)
 
yeah I heard about that too. I did that with the stick because she was an autoflower.

I wasn't too sure that would work with the other one so I didn't do it.
 
i think its time to pop some of them sour kushes poplars!!!! lol
 
I'm also starting to think that heat stress may have caused the airy bud low yield.

lets just hope so because most of my outdoor 09 is the bush :D.

and yeah chit town I think it's almost time . . .
 
idk buddy they're in pots, it's the beginning of summer.

and because they're in pots their roots take a lot of excess heat they shouldn't.

and the leaves and bud show signs of sunburn.
 
our 12/12s this summer are killing it!. Dense fat nugs and actually fatter than fall due to the super sun.

you may be right about the pots and heat. it ain't good enough to cover the pots because whatever cover you use is touching the pot and transfers the heat. we actually built skirts around all plants in pots to shade the pot, soil, AND the ground around the pots. it was getting like 110 earlier this summer and is about to hit again. your plants can take it but only if the root zone is under 80 degrees. Get one of those cooking thermometers and stick it in one of you pots' soil. actually, take all the pots' temps.

I figured out exactly why I had reduced yields from the bush.

due to the plant being in a pot, and out exposed to the sun, the roots were exposed to too much heat, way more than they normally can handle. this stress caused it to hermaphrodite in some areas, (I found seeds in some parts, 90% of the bud is seedless)

so essentially, heat stress due to pot not being properly protected from the sun is the reason I had reduced yields.

my outdoor 09, all the bushy plants are from 'the bush' so for all who payed attention to this, divert your attention to my outdoor grow because that will really show what this strain can REALLY do.
