I was wondering what everyone thought about this. I have one 1.5cf bag of ffof, with 1cf of ff light warrior, and 5 gal of perlight mixed together. I was just going to use this mix but it turns out im going to need alot more substrate then originally planned.

Since fox farm is so expensive, I was wondering if i could mix coco with it? I already have 7 blocks of it on hand. If so how much could i mix in before having to change the ph of my water? I plan on using the three main fox farm nutes, would it also meen Ill have to supplement Cal Mag?

Any help is greatly appreciated and + Repped

Thanx for the input +rep. I was thinking the coco because I already have it. If i buy more it will prolly be pro-mix, not because its better then sunshine mix 4 but because its slightly cheaper.

mix it with sunshine mix 4 will be cheaper in the end
I dunno about that...

You'll be fine with the coco peat. You can run it with organics like that without having to worry about using a hydroponic pH. Coco does a lot of self buffering.

You could run into that calcium issue if you are using more than 50% coco. Cal-mag is cheap enough though.

Thanks alot! +rep How much do you recomend mixing into it? The coco is in a compressed block "general hydroponics Cocotek" is what its called.

u can mix 50/50 coco is basically neutral in ph it holds water and air well, u could also use it for your growing medium if you want to go hydro. as for the cal- mag get some dolimite lime it has cal-mag in it, hope i helped u ...good luck
