Fox Farm Trio or Dutch Master Gold with Soilless Peat Mix

If anyone has any experience growing in a peat/perlite mix with nothing added but dolomite lime, is it better to use a strictly hydroponic fertilizer like Dutch Master Gold or would it be equal or better to grow with the organic Fox Farm Trio?

This is a sterile mix so there are NO beneficial bacteria in the mix. Will this hinder the plants ability to uptake the Fox Farm nutes or are they already available like with a chemical fertilizer?

I've grown in my own peat based mix for years, lime added, and never treated it as hydro, only as soil.

Easy enough to add BB and Myco's for ~$8 delivered/ www.fungi.com Mycogrow soluble.

No experience with either of those nutes.

Fox Farm Trio is not organic, anyways. Big Bloom is, but Grow Big and Tiger Bloom are not... they are hydro nutes.

The new Dutch Masters Gold is no longer hydro or soil specific. The new formula is for any type of grow medium hydro or soil plus it has the micro nutrients that your current mix does not have.

I grow in 80% perlite and 20% vermiculite hempy style. I use Dutch Masters Gold series Grow A&B and Grow max and Bloom A&B and Bloom max. I have been happy with the results. I am also using Open Sesame, Beastie Bloomz and Cha-ching.

Follow subcools super soil mix if you wan't to grow the best pot possible using organic soil. Using water only the whole grow no ferts. Adding all that stuff to your plant can't be good for smoking or your wallet. And flushing the crap out during the last two weeks just starves your plant during its flowering stage. If your using ff cut it with light warrior because its the wrong ratio and can burn. Unless your a chemist with iron lungs i'd go ff/lw or subcools mix.

i do use soilless better than soil for my peference :) anyways i do mix peat moss with perlite its 50/50 plus add lime thats it....now about the nutrients, its really depend on the plants strain...for instance, i have three plants, in all the soilless pots...GH floraduo a and b....but other two dont like the GH flora duo, so other two plant i tried to feed with x nutrient fertilizer, once again one of em love it and other hate it...so i ended up feed other last plant with Miralce Gro s all purpose food and this particluar plant love it. as i said its depend on the strains. i cant advice ya but from my exprience hydrponoic fertlizers is best for soilless pots, but the best method is to get know which s right fertilizer for your plant is read your plant !!! how plant react when you feed it. good luck

The "guy" at the hydro store sold me the Grow Big for Soil. They where out of the hydro kind, but he ASSURED me that the Soil kind would be fine for my soilless mix. Does anyone know if this is true?

well they keep recommend you about foxfarm nutrients ? If you re really lean toward trio of foxfarm fertilizers, then i say get the hydroponic trio...just five bucks off from soils like trio of foxfarm for soil cost around 45 bucks, while 40 dollars for trio ff of hydroponic...to be honest with ya, i was thinking about buy those trio foxfarm, i ve read the label about trace elements, I ended up get a free bottles of GH floraduo they got more trace elements than foxfarm...so earlier, i just found out theres a better fertilizer that contain all of the minerals are dyna gro and low salt build up, especially i really like is pro tek, im planning to buy dyna gro for my soilless pots are 7-5-9, bloom and pro tek....check those products out...they re good price too...i havent run it yet but you gotta read those products before you buy :)

EDIT:

i just re read your post....my bad you already got grow bottle...but more information will help you in the future...Peace
