Friends First Grow, she needs advice...

Couldn't find this post, but her plants have been in flower for almost 3 weeks does it look ok for it's age, and what kind of weed is it?

She has been growing it in flower or almost 3 weeks and just wanted to see if it was normal looking for it's age. And how do you know what strain it is... things like that.. thanks

They look fine for a first time, what are you wanting to know?

I mean you haven't given us much info. What strain, how old, anything.

I'm not sure if you want a compliment or what but if you do they look good for a first time, nice and green.

We don't know what strain it is, and it has been in flower for almost 3 weeks, just wanted to know I it looks OK for what it is.. considering we don't know what it is...

If 'your friend' doesn't know what she's growing then it's bagseed, most likely. Nothing wrong with that, of course.

Very funny... listen I'm an oldie but a goody and that went right over my head... (44), good thing I had a younger here... now if anyone could help me identifyfy it, I would appreciate it... LOL!

Lo Budget, she said she pot the seeds from some weed that was supposed to be seedless, out of an ounce she got 4 seeds... and they were very light green, but so was the bud that she got it from, yellowish color, almost a gold color.. she said it was outrageous stuff. There were 2 of them but one didn't make it, and the other 2 seeds didn't germinate. This plant itself was out side all summer honesty it wasn't doing well at all she thought it wasn't going to make it, but then she brought it in and put cfl lighting and it took off. This plant is 6 months old. It almost looked like bonsa plant at first... but that's the thing it is so old, and she just put it into flowering... could the pant be no good?

You wont be able to tell what strain it is just by looking at it, maybe be able to tell what parents it had at some point by leaf size, shape,smell and height, but over all you might have better luck figuring out what sand from the local playground sand box came from what gravel company.

it's partially true. it does look sativa dominant which usually takes a little longer to flower. my c99s take 56 days of flower but that is unusually short time for sativa dominant. GL

I don't know about that particular plant, but bagseed can produce good plants. Most people don't save the seeds from crappy weed. The fact the the plant is 6 months old isn't a problem, cannabis can remain in veg (non-flowering mode) almost indefinitely.
It looks pretty good, considering. Your friend should spend a little time here, we can help make her time and effort worthwhile.

Also, tell your friend her plant requires TOTAL darkness during the dark periods. Any light reaching the plant during this time will be detrimental and really slow things down.


Keeps us posted, I'd like to see how this turns out.

Just an update, I think all is well... I have adopted it, like I know what I'm doing... right! Figure she started I'll finish, anyway I have it under a bunch of cfls, and 3 different other kind of lights I think they are called LEDS in darkness for 12 hours.... and have been feeding it, the tips look a little burned.... very little so I am not going to feed her for a while until it goes away... I will post more pics later... THANKS TO ALL!!!

So here she is now on the 17th. She is actually in bloom for almost 5 weeks.... the pics I had posted originally I thought were three weeks in, but I was wrong they were just under 2 weeks in then. I am not sure if this is bad or good as I have never done this before. I did the bending of the branches, and occasionally take off the dead leaves. I noticed the tipps of the leaves were turning a wee bit brown so I m just giving her water for now. What do you think thus far. I have researched and researched, and found that I think she looks like OG kush, but again I am an old timer, where we did tie stick, sensamelia... non of these new age names, so again I am not sure of what even OG kush is, or if I ma on the right track even. Any guidance would be appreciated. She smells AWESOME!!!

It's pretty much impossible to tell what strain it is by just looking at it and comparing to the thousands of strains out there. As someone else sort of mentioned already, you would have better lucky identifying what beach the sand came from at your local play ground. That's about as hard as it's going to be. I have grown around 50 different strains and a lot of them look like each other and even same of the same strain can sometimes look different.

I took a clipping from this plant and it's vegging, but it looks a little different even though it's from the same plant. The leaves are a little thicker. I wish there was some kind of DNA test to figure, I have been banging my head trying to figure out what strain it is so I will know how long it should take to flower, but I can see it really is the impossible task... very frustrating! It did take forever to veg. and I can see from the clipping that is under a 24 hour CFL light, it is taking forever also, however it is healthy, unlike this one was in the beginning. I am not sure what went wrong with this one as it was grown in a pot all summer outside, it did not like the heat at all. As soon as we took her indoors and put CFL lighting on her she took off. I also have a pocket microscope coming that goes up to 30x magnification so I can look at the trichomes. If this plant is one of those that take a very long time to veg. does that mean the same for flowering? Am I wrong thinking that this has at least 3 more weeks?

Looks like an Indica dominant hybrid... which is my favorite... they generally yield well and are often couchlock types of smoke.
