From 18/6 to 24/7 Is it ok, or even beneficial?

This is a question of time, I have ten plants 5 T44 and 4 mazar x afghan with 1 hindu kush as well. They are about 6 weeks old and have been on an 18/6 schedule from the beginning. I was wondering if changing to 24 Hrs. a day could be beneficial at this point? From what I have read the light, heat and other factors during the first two weeks from seed can promote male or female gender, and since I am beyond those 2 weeks could changing the light cycle to 24/7 promote male charachteristics, or maybe just increase the rate of growth with no affect on the already predetermined sex? I would love to hear your input, Thanks

if your plants are past 2 weeks old and u want to veg it still then u can switch from 18 and put 24 hr lightitng until u r ready to flower..just make sure when in flower u dont have light leaks and pay close attention for the males so u can pick them early..

Thanks Wyte, I have some panda plastic coming priority right now. I appreciate the tips, I only want to veg until the shoots are good enough to take cuttings from. Ive heard one week into flowering and also to never take clones while flowering EVER so my gut says to take it during veg. Is there something to the "stretch" as I have seen it called? Halelujah I need to go back to school. Thanks bro!

I take clones from my flowering plants all the time. so its ok to take clones from a flowering plant just dont wait 2 long into the flowering stage to take clones.Ive tried it to see the difference and there is no difference they both root the same and flower the same.

also the more dark time you give the more it would show sex so if u were to keep it on 18/6 it would show sex faster than 24/0..so if u doing it to deteremine sex then keep it on 18/6 but if u want more growth then 24/0

Cool cool, I will probably start flowering then, and make sure to take the cuttings within the next 10 or 12 days and get the hot house fired up. Thanks for the feedback Wyte, yur cool!

I also read that in the dark is when plants make their roots at greater str than when they are "awake". It is not nesccary but I readthat is is more prolific at roots in the dark.

I dont risk light leaks.

xtra blue, that makes sense. Probably why its said that metal halide alone for veg could be better than hps alone , thanks dirt clean.

24hr lighting is good but plants develop stronger roots in there sleep time(so you would be robbing your plants for the best root system they couldve had)than plants vegged under 18/6.so while it can be good 2 some crops it can be better for others.

the roots provide the surface area for nutrient absorbsion, the greater the area the greater rate of absorbsion directly translates into inncreased growth rates. this along with the info above leads me to believe that 24/0 is NOT the best way to veg. sure it works, but does it work better?
