These plants are 5days old. This is my first time and all 18 have sprouted so far so good. Im worried cause i just a temp gauge and it said it was 69.9 so i added a heater to the setup to make my temp 80.4. For day 2 and 3 of these plants life they went with 100% NO LIGHT. 5 of my plants have on the second pair of leafes a dead brown yellowish tint of the tip of the leafs. 1 of these 5 is no taller then 1 inch. My light is about 6-8 inch away from plants. I water them once a night with warm tap water. I have used a fox farm Med Mix for the soil. In about 3 days i will be going out to buy a mx sumthing like 20-10-10. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Hello Mh41. Just a couple of quick thoughts I had. Watering once a day is probably too much, IMO. You risk damping off which is where the stems get all gnarly at the soil line and then the plants die. Over watering was my number one issue when I started growing, so I know it's hard not to get in there and be all nurturing, but they'll thrive better with less attention. Also, if you're using Fox Farm soil, you don't have to worry about nutes for a good 2 weeks. The soil will provide what is needed. When it's time to start feeding, consider using the Fox Farm trio. It's done me proud for a few years now. Start off using 1/2 of what the feeding schedule calls for until you get a handle on what your strain needs. I'm attaching the feeding schedule I use. Good luck young grower!

P.S. Be cautious with tap water. Consider getting a Brita pitcher or similar to pull a good chunk of crap out of the water. Chlorine might be a reason you're seeing those brown tips, but I'm just taking a stab in the dark here.

I have a Fan blowing air down onto the plants and a fan blowing air across the plants on the ground. I have my Mh light about 1 1/2 feet away. co2 helps produce more energy by increasing plant respriation

a tank and regulator is 200-350 depending on where you get them

off ebay a tank runs 60-75 and a regulator is 60 -150 so you can save alot.

these hid light lose intensity very fast.

i use this formula
400 watt 3x3 max height 1.5 feet
600 watt 4x4 max height 2.5 feet
1000 watt 5x5 max height 3.5 feet

smaller light will lose intensity very rapidly
