From seed or not from seed that is the question!

I'm wondering for this outdoor season should I grow my plants from seed or from clone? I've alwase done seed but Ive been offered 8 free clones 4 GDP and 4 romulan, now as I'm sure u know seeds are not cheap so I'm wondering what kind of yeild could I exspect to get, planted out side in mid April to harvest in oct? Thanx a million!

im not going to wager any guesses as to yeild to many factors. but clones grown along site the same seeds will usually produce less. seeds just seem to have more vigor. dont get me wrong i use clones also, i use both actualy. so take the clones and if youve got the extra time, money, and room grow some seeds. the nice thing about seeds is youve always got the chance of having a realy special one. with clones they are going to be like their parents so there is no chance of it getting better, unless you grow it better than your friend. even then its the same plant.

Ok I see, and what do u think about growing in pots? Now let's say I plant a sour diesel seed in the ground and the plant grows to 6ft let's say. And if plant that same seed on a pot what size pot do u think I would need for that plant to grow to 6 ft?

when growing outdoors in pots the bigger the better i would not go with anything under 10 gallons. preferably more. 6ft plants have huge root masses. i always think puting them right in the ground is best but i do some pots sometimes also.if your running a full season in one pot go for over ten gallons. people will tell you differant but the bigger the better. speaking outdoors thats a fact. if your putting some clones out late season just to flower you can go smaller thats about the only exception.

Clones are great. Seeds take A LONG TIME. If you're not planting at the end of winter or very start of spring, expect very slow growth for the first 2 months from seed. Not ideal.

Clones will of course grow some bigger roots and take off as soon as you put them in. You can plant late and still have that 6 week to 2 month head start.

you will have a bigger yield from seed but if i was you i would make mother out of those clones and make more clones to put out. the most i have ever got off a clone outside is 3/4 lbs where from seed i can get inbeteewn 1 to 5 lbs

Dont you ensure females with clones as opposed to seed? If you have the space I guess you could just plan for the 50% or so to turn make and cut them down, just means a bigger crop to start with.
