I need to clean my basement grow room out and get it ready for a fresh start but it is full of spiders! I don't like spiders, as a matter of fact I am VERY creeped out by them.:o

leave them, they won't hurt your plants at all.. In fact they will eat spidermites among other pests so imo they are good for gardens. p.s. im creeped the fuck out by them too

Be aware of where they are, but leave 'em be. I have severe arachnaphobia, and will FREAK if one lands on me unannounced, or if I see one unexpectedly. but they are free, organic pest controll. GOD I hate spiders!!!

Well these aren't just spiders. I can handle the little fuzzy ones. These are those basement spiders that look kind of like daddy-long-legs but they are like the evil version of them and get very big. They are the worst.

I had a pet praying mantis on my last grow and they got him and ate him....

Brown reclusis' love basements so be aware if they are in your area, they will fuck you up good and can possibly kill you. we have them in the NW and i know they are very very common down south as well.

Yeah if its eating a praying mantis... Full grown? or baby? that spider has to be fucking big...
Praying mantis are a predator too and will kill spiders usually...
and brown recluse ...... they will fuck you up... Robert is right they love basements and they are in the south all the way up to Washington so chances are you have these fucks... they go all the way to Wyoming as far as the rest of the country who knows for sure. they could be there just haven't shown themselves yet...
The only good thing about the bastards is you will not feel the bite... First bite numbs your tissue... 2nd bite is lunch / flesh eating poison
Takes about 9 days and you will probably lose a limb, but the thing is you cannot mistake the bite... i believe its black rings on day 1... then it swells more and opens up turns completely black and yellowish puss with blood mixed in there by day 9... Not a pretty site... but if you are stupid enough to leave it for that long then i think you should die... lmao
It can be fixed by the local doctor right away....
spray chemicals kill them all then clean vigorously.... then put sticky traps up... say for mice snakes etc... catches those bastards too..
put them in any area you found them before... along cracks windows ...etc
i hate spiders too but since i was in white rock BC ....they have the common house spider which gets over 6 inch's at its largest... Looks like a very large wolf spider all black very aggressive ( no poison ) bu they leave about half a grapefruit size welt where they bit you...
Most spiders dont bug me to much anymore unless they are in my bed... then i go crazy... lol

Do they have sort of a whitish yellowish body? I'm pretty sure those are harmless, I have seen them crawling on my plants once and a while. I swear one time one sat on the edge of a leaf and watched me as I watered my ladies. But ya most spiders are fuckin gross and nasty and I def try and avoid them. Ugly little fuckers

I'm famiar with the recluse. I'm not sure if they are here or not I live in southern MI...

My cousin was bit by one on her leg and she had a big old hole there. I think she had to have like 3 or 4 surgeries on it..

These are the ones in my basement, some call them daddy long legs but these aren't what I call daddly long legs..

Yup your cousin was bit by one.....

and they look like this...

Nasty fuckers

That is sick as fuck... those cellar spiders are no fucking daddy long legs but they are harmless....
the real daddy long legs have tiny bodys.. if that was a real daddy long legs the poison would be more deadly then any other spider in the world.. allegedly.

They are pretty much all over the states, but predominantly in the southern ones. They love dark, dry spaces, and as the name suggests they are reclusive. You won't find 'em in an area with alot of activity. but they are mean asses, and since I moved up to this state, I am absolutely certain that there is one with my name on it. (Brrrr!!)

Note the tell-tale violin shape on the abdomen

Tilltheday, the Daddy Longlegs is the most venomous spider. Their fangs can't penetrate our skin thankfully.

thats what i was saying if that cellar spider was a actual daddy long legs it would be able to penetrate the skin and also produce more venom. :P
i would be fucking scared of that thing lol
