general question from beginner

i have a few females that start flowering about 3 weeks ago
i wanted to know if there was some certain technique for curing the buds when there ready
ive heard that you just pick them and sit them in the dark with a fan but then ive also heard something bout using water and peroxide then drying them
is that necessary ?
