germing

hey there, i'm not a total rookie, but am germinating some seeds and all i'm seeing is just the barest of white on the cracks... One of them has a very small tail, although it's just come out of it's shell... It's been a week... should i just throw the ones showing signs in the ground? Typically i wait until the root is an inch long or so...

suggestions?

I after one week you have only a hint of a Tap Root; I believe you are doing something wrong. If germ'd correctly, and assuming your beans are viable, no more then 3 days prior to planting should be required. Longer will yield a longer more delicate taproot.

Can you provide a vivid description of you technique. (Don't refer to a thread as we won't be able to determine the problem); any pics of the setup you are using to germ? (I.e. 2 saucer plates, one on top of the other with damp papertowl between?)

If you are germing with Tap Water and it's of low quality; I'd suggest Distilled water.

Good luck!

It's the standard papertowel teq. I've got about 8 beans in folded towel, and it's been in a bowl in the dark cabinet. I used distilled water, since i have a distiller, but there has been pretty minimal action. 1 seed is from Attitude, 1 from a dank sativa a friend had, and then a group of 6 random bag seeds... I'll replace the paper towel and water, and put them in some soil mid week... I've had 3 or 4 other grows before, so although i'm no jeorge, i'm not a total rookie either...
