Getting ready for cure...

So I thought my buds were ready to be jarred. After about 10 minutes I could see they were clumped together. Took everything and placed in a paper bag and taped shut, question is how long should I give em in the bag before trying again?
Hung dry for 6 days, did a dry trim-temp range was 68~73 RH range 58~62-smallest stems were bending not snapping. Read different opinions, do I want the little stems to snap or bend?
Thanks for any input

I hang my buds for 10 to 14 days in a room with about 55% RH and a temp under 71. I don’t draw a big line between dry and cure though. I cut 7 weeks ago and most of the big stuff is still hanging on the line. I just do the final dry trim when the buds come off the line. The lowers get final trimmed and put in a tote or left on a screen in the dry/cure space.
I always read that the stems should snap before being jarred but I gave up on jar curing a few years ago.

I was hoping to have my temp range more in the 60s, but I ran my AC for 6 days straight and I could barely get it in the 60s. Going to try and avoid summer grows in the future.

Summer grows are always hard inside. A big A/C in the flowering room is the only way I‘m making it. You don’t need to drop your temps that low. According to EdRosenthal in his book “Harvest”, you need to stay under 70. Temps above that will cause terpenes to evaporate out of the weed.
I’m in Canada and I did a cure last winter and it was real easy to keep the room dry and cold. All I had to do was not heat that room so much and winter took care of the conditions. I know “low and slow” is the goal, but that weed wasn’t noticeably better than any other runs I’ve had.

Yeah this was my first real go at a proper dry and cure. I’ve grown once or twice before, but messed up throughout and were basically practice practice runs haha. Now that I’ve learned summer is a rough time to grow, I’m looking forward to a fall grow and how much easier it may be.

You want the stem to bend imo. If you're still struggling to maintain 60-65% RH in the jars to just need to keep the lid open for several hours and make sure they're not sticking to each other. You can give the jar a shake.

It's okay if you're still in that 70 percent range because slower is better. And once you can maintain 60-65 you only have to really check on them every day or every couple of days. I use boveda 62 once I get it stable and just let em go.

Every day the smell improves. The Skywalker I had had a sharp smell when I harvested but it has really mellowed out and gotten much nicer. It's a lot more piney with like a hint of lemon. But it takes time to cure and it's a hugely important part of the grow.

Once I cure for 2 months at 62 I'll jar them with a 58 percent boveda as I prefer it to be a little drier. Personal preference. And that's how it'll be consumed and stored.

You should be fine, I have the worst possible climate for dry/cure and my first ones have come out good.

five day dry and then into jars to cure with the temp in the mid to high 70s the whole time.

definitely curious how the next ones coming down in winter will be compared.

Did you notice any issues, like a reduction in smell/taste?

I’m only about three weeks into the cure with my oldest jars, but they smell and smoke really nicely.

I’ve never really been able to tell much as far as taste. When they were fresher it kind of tasted like ash but that’s gone now and they taste just like weed id buy.

I was pretty bummed about drying so quickly but it seems like it won’t be a problem, just maybe could’ve been slightly better.
