Getting rid of insects from potted plants?

Hello,

I have been trying to get rid of insects in my potted plants, I believe they're aphids. I saw a VERY fat spider (probably from eating a majority of the insects. But I had to remove the spider too.

I saw on some website

That I could dunk my plants in mild soap water for 15-20 minutes, scrubbing the pot and rinsing. (they could not emphasize enough about not using degreasers and etc)

Would this be okay to do this with autoflowers?

Dawn dish soap is a gardeners best friend i swear by it now!

Not only will it take care of aphids and other pesky small insects. But it won't damage your plants. If your soil starts getting really firm and packed down. A little dawn dish soap, water that in. BAM! Nice softened soil.
AND!!! An added bonus is that the dawn will also help flush your soil. Love dawn!
