I'm new here and to growing, and my question is what's a good, safe, and reliable website to order growing materials and equipment from? There are quite a few things I need that I just can't find around home.

Huh, I've never had an issue with them.
I had a bad bulb show up with a fixture (obviously broken in shipping) & they didn't even want to see a pic of it - just fed-ex'd me another at n/c.
What happened ?

I like Amazon too - just got my ez-cloner from them.

yes htg the one in taylor Michigan . the ass hole manager Karl would not warranty a light for me that was still under warranty for 6 months more . I came home one day and a t5 bulb was broke on the floor . the sockets were cracking ? why we don't know. Karl told me I had dropped the light on the floor so its not covered . corporate gave me a very hard time after waiting a week for a reply from them they wanted me to send pictures to them. but I did not want to put up with stupidity . I took the light to there competition and they warranty the light for me . they said the sockets would of cost 2 bucks each the ended up changing half of them . making a new customer , I have spent thousands in high tech garden supply . now I wont step a foot in the door . prices have gone up any ways im sure you notice . on every item .

Thanks for the input guys much appreciated. I ended up finding most everything but hydro nutes. I'm gonna try 2 bubbler buckets and 2 5gal buckets with soil figured I'd try em both out to see which I like better. Any suggestions on good hydro nutes, or soil mixes? Right now I just got topsoil and perlite mixed up should I add anything else. No plants yet but germinating seeds as we speak

i bought most from dan the grow man out of cali. other than that bought from reputable dealers on ebay well off ebay transactions you want decent stuff for the money go here i use the stuff no problems at all even with the standard HPS
http://www.virtualsunhydroponics.comView attachment 3029819I would suggest buying the digital dimmable 600w or the 1000w at least you can dial it down and for price it cannot be beat especially the quality of the products.

I use eBay for equipment as well, including HTG with no issues. But on to the soil.....Don't use something for experienced growers. Go find you local greenhouse and get their house soil that they use on all vegetables. My local carries Ball brand soil and its worked great for me with no issues. After you've made it thru the harvest then you can experiment to find your sweet spot and favorite variables. Good luck!

Digging up dirt in your backyard for an indoor op is a bad idea IMHO.
You're bringing in all kinds of critters & pest's.
I wouldn't do it.

Spring for a bag of soil for 10 bucks at the hardware store & then all you might have to worry about are fungus gnats at worst.

hey man I dont wish to teach grandma to suck eggs,or whatever that saying is lol,but should you not have better airflow on that scrog?I thought you were just inviting mold if you didnt have good airflow?

And I just was wondering, does anyone else fucking hate going into hydro shops or ordering stuff online? The way I see it,its the oneweak link you know? And when you go into a shop and theres other customers, youre basicly telling them what youre up to,right?Or if the feds wanted to be real assholes all theyd have to do is follow anyone coming out the shop and youd be fucked!

Trust mine has more than adequate airflow and ventallation. Low humidity 28% fresh air intake all the natural co2 they need. Perfect pressure in tent. That's what I do

As for hydro shops who cares we have big garden as well as lots of indoor grows peppers carrots lettuce spinach tomatoes. So I could care less if head of dea was there. Garden supplies never can justify a warrant unless previous felony convictions and probation. So I say buy from wherever u need too

The topsoil was bought at menards. I didn't dig it up. And I'm thinkin about starting a garden outside this spring as well so I figured that'd take heat off
