Golden Goat STS Reversal Too Late?

Hello all,

I started this grow with intentions to make fem seeds with a reversed Golden Goat (using STS). I'm now at day 25 of flower, and realized later that I should've started flowering my reversal female a week or two prior to starting flower for the pollen-receiving females.

Am I too late for a successful pollination here? The reversed GG plant is showing pollen sacks more and more, but they are too young to contain pollen at the moment. From what I've researched, pollen usually starts dropping at day 30-35 for an STS reversed female. That's 7 weeks into flower- a pretty darn late pollination.

I do have a vial of pollen in the fridge as an emergency backup (so I could pollinate now, but it's another strain I'm not as stoked on), should I just finish flowering the reversed golden goat somewhere else and store the pollen from it for the future?

Im tempted to just go "balls out" and hope for pollen soon. Thanks for looking!

As long as you still have white pistols it should pollinate, but you’ll need enough time for the seeds to mature.

Thanks for the response. You're right, I don't mind running the plants a little longer to sacrifice bud quality. There's definitely time for more pistols to appear, still waiting on the pollen drop- but it looks like any day now

I would like to do the same one day. Following this will be interesting to see how it turns out. Good luck!

That would be pistils, not pistols! (None of my pistols are white!) LOL

I'll give an update tonight when my light cycle kicks in.

Day 28 since 12/12 switch.

Still waiting for pollen to fall, resorting to picking off mature pollen sacks and letting them dry for 2-3 days before manually pollinating.

Update: A lot of the male flowers opened but never willingly dropped pollen and just died/ fell off the plant. I tried dry-sieving as much pollen as I could from opened sacs, then released it into the tent with the fans going about 2 weeks ago with no sign of seed formation.

I'm assuming this pollen is infertile, as ive pollinated another branch with some other stored pollen and saw seed production within a few days.

I put the reversed GG female into my veg tent for now and will harvest pollen with hopes that the older/mature stuff will be viable. Oh well, I guess having a tent full of non-seeded buds isn't a total loss lol.

I'm assuming that I sprayed the STS too often (drenched about 5 times, every 2-3 days beginning switch of 12/12 until I started seeing pollen sacs. Or, the STS spray I got from Amazon is too strong. Next time I'm definitely mixing my own STS and only spraying 2-3 times.
