Got 2 free MH light fixtures but I need bulbs. What to do.

So my buddy gave me 2 250w MH fixtures that he had used for his aquarium. I need to replace the bulbs because they are like 14k reef lights. This is possibly a short term thing because I would most likely switch to a larger set of lights eventually. These lights will also be used start to finish so the bulbs are a factor.

Hortilux blue seem to be the best for an all around bulb, but $100 a piece. Which is kind of alot for lights I dont foresee keeping. So what should I do? Buy some cheapies? Possibly buy 2 different spectrums, since they will be side by side? And what spectrums to buy?

I've grown in the past with 1000hps start to finish, but this is now and Im not sure about what to do with these free MH lights. Thanks for any input!

According to my "chart" 5700 is the best spectrum for MH. Anyone agree, disagree?

sounds good......but a question for LEDGROWING... whats frosted do differently than clear?

Id run a grow with two of them and maybe even keep for veggie room. thats 500w MH. I only run a 400w MH now.

Yeah 2x250 could work out for the greater good.

Yea thouse bulbs will work 19.99 isnt bad i buy stuff from ebay all the time.

I bet you can find the bulbs at HOME DEPOT and go home with the bulbs today.I bought my 400W bulb there because it was the exact same as my grow shop. Just less expensive. I'm on my second grow , no problems at all.

i would make those lights a perminent solution. when your ready for more power get more 250 watt setups. and spead them out more light sources or better than just 1. and 250 cooler so your plants can a little bigger before they are to close
