Hello everyone, I got a new 4x4 tent for Christmas so thought it would be a good time to start my first grow journal on here.

Specs -
Spider Farmer® 4’x4’X6.5′ G5000 480w Full Spectrum LED Grow Light丨6” Clip Fan丨6” Ventilation System with Humidity and Temperature Controller

Upgrade from my first 4x2 tent which now will be used as my veg/mother tent. Can't wait to use the controller and see if it'll help give me a more stable environment. Struggle sometimes with temp and RH since I'm in a garage

Strains -
Dancing Lime - Bobs Bitchen Beans
Chernobyl(Slymer)x Baja Blast
Gifted the Dancing Lime (thank you @BobBitchen) really interested in the terps from both parents and the frost from the Slymer side

Breeders Choice #4 - DJ Short
Want to see what I have(supposedly it's from the Blue Moonshine genetics)and hopefully get a nice male or female to use in a chuck down the road

Double Thunder - Johnny Potseed
Thunder Rose(Frankenstein x King Tut x Cindy-99 x Strawberry Alien Moonrocks)x Alaskan Thunder Fck
Loaded up on beans at his sale, these are the first of them that I'm popping since they are supposed to be fire

5 gal fabric pots
70% Sungro Sunshine mix #4 and 30% Ocean Forest

Sure to learn some new things and have some fun along the way, and ending up with some good smoke

Putting in Solo cups

The wife says I need to wait till Xmas to open and set up the new tent, but that doesn't mean I can't get a head start on popping the beans

Germinated all 3 strains in paper towels. 2xT were the first to pop with DL right behind, the DJ#4 were cracked but didn't grow tails till the following day.

Labeled cups, filled them with 70% Grow mix #4, 30% Happy Frog

Congrats on the new grow space and freshly popped beans. Thanks for bringing us along on the journey. It’s always exciting to see how other people approach a grow.

Looking good man, looking to upgrade to a 4x4 myself in the next couple months. Lemme know how the humidity control goes with the fans etc, struggling in a 2x4 right now with humidity fluctuations too but plants look to be handling it well.

Thanks, I'll try my best. With this lineup I'm sure it will help with me looking like I know what I'm doing
Looking good! New gear with Xmas cheer, yeah buddy!!
Thank you Santa!

I will be sure to post about my experience with the controller. It's one of the things I most looking forward to. Hope it keeps my trips to the garage to a minimum. My wife is starting to get jealous of the attention the plants get. LOL

I've spent many an hour scrolling through the journal. Hope to contribute some good posts/pics, spreading the good work of Bob!

I figured I’d give a little update before Xmas. I’ll be busy and I’m sure everyone else as well.
Seedling are doing great. Making me a little nervous how easy it has been.

Most are on their second or third set of leaves with DJ Short still behind and two of them having a twisty leaf thing going on.

Guess I’ll mention the two older plants in the room, as they will probably be the first to go in the 4x4.
They are MOB x Sour Lifesaver from Dirty Worm Farms co-lab with Off Grid Seeds.

Praying that one will be female as I’ve popped two rounds of different seeds with all of them being males. Did get some Fireball pollen at least for all my time spent.
Temp 88°F - 75°F
RH 60% - 70%
I do run a small space heater and also a 6 liter Spider Farmer humidifier
Everything is looking on point.
Hope you all have a wonderful Holidays :bigjoint:

The holidays are over so I think it's time for an update, and let's just say it was pretty rough.
Got my new 4x4 set up, and only moved the 2 larger plants I had started earlier inside. Doing that made my tent environment in the 2x4 fluctuate so bad I'm still trying to stabilize it.
IMG_20250102_100019964_HDR.jpg
As you can see, some of the plants are looking a little worse for wear. The temps spiked up to the high 90F, and the humidifier stop working. Also, with the larger plants not being there to buffer the fan, the direct breeze caused even more damage. Lost one Dancing Lime due to this. RIP
On the bright side they are pulling out of it and I up potted them all which I'm hoping will start an explosion of growth and we can forget about all of this ever happening.
Here is the new 4x4 setup with the 2 MOBxSL inside. When they first went in they were hating the light, turned it down to 70% and they are starting to look like they are getting used to it. 90% positive the one of the left is female and the right is a male but I'll give it one more week before I toss the male to make sure.

Did a little pruning to both and some LST on the "female". Once I'm positive on the sex, I'm thinking about trying doing ScrOG for the first time. Figure I only have one plant in this large tent so I should try and maximize the space.I'm sure with all the info on here and everyone's help I'll be fine.
Hope everyone had a great holidays and happy growing.

All plants have bounced back nicely, they are loving their new pots. So well that I topped all except the DJ Shorts. I want them to grow a few more healthy leaves first, instead of having to rely on the mutant ones for photosynthesis.

Quick rundown on the strains so far.

Double Thunder/ 3 in top left corner - tall and lanky, leaves looking to pull more sativa then the others, sweet smell
Dancing Lime/ Top right corner and right middle - leaves look hybrid, nice branching already starting, leaf rub has a citrus smell
DJ Short/ 2 in bottom right and left middle - leaves#1 and #3 are growing out of their mutant leaves, smallest of the strains, piney, dank smell on the rub

Changed my mind on the SrcOG. I thought more about it and I could end up with a big cluster fk if I get a bunch of females. The plant I was 99% positive was a male threw out a couple more balls so I culled him. The plan now for the MOBxSL is to flip her in a week. She has adjusted to the light and is getting nice and bushy, I'm sure she would have been great to ScrOG. Plan on taking a few clones a couple weeks after the flip, so I can try it later if she's worth it. We shall see when she starts to flower.
May your plants and smoke always be green! See you in a week.

Not much to write about this week, things have been pretty slow. All the plants in the 2x4 are growing steadily in their new pots
IMG_20250115_104241779.jpg
The Dancing Limes have started to out pace the Double Thunders and are looking to become some beasts.
IMG_20250115_104300124.jpg
I didn't do the Double Thunders any favors, they got a little over watered a couple days ago and are a little yellow and droopy. But they have shown to be very resilient and should perk up soon.
IMG_20250115_104253166.jpg
DJ #4 is quietly chugging along. After a slow start with their mutant leaves they have grown into bushy little things. One is still working its way out of it, but I'm optimistic that it'll pull through.

Really happy about this lineup. Glad to have such different genetics to learn new things from. It keeps me on my toes and excited to see if any changes or problems happen.

Now to the 4x4. I flipped her 3 days ago because of how quickly the plants in the 2x4 were catching up. Only now it's looking like she's realizing it and starting to begin the stretch. Don't know what to expect how big she'll get, but not really worried about it. Just need enough bud to make it through till the next run is finished, then I'll be set for a while. If she does turn out to be something special, I have plans on taking clones next week when I prune her. I'm also giving her a top dress and she should be in full stretch by then.
Hope everyone has a great day and take care

Wow! It's been awhile, a lot has changed.
Out of the 9 seeds I started only 2 were female.
All the Double Thunder and Dancing Lime were males. One of the DJ Short #4 was also a male, and the remaining 2 #4's were the only girls.
I did keep the male and attempted my first pollen chuck, we'll see how it turns out.
The plants are two different phenos. One is a mutant who self topped itself. Actually, the main stalk has mutated leaves and it's top was bent. A side branch that was growing normal leaves, out grew the main stalk and is now the larger top.
IMG_20250311_015301623.jpgIMG_20250308_201543216.jpg
The second plant is a lighter green and has had issues with nutes. Haven't figured out If it's too much or not enough, but I'm happy if it doesn't die. Seems to be behind in bud development than the mutant so maybe it pulls a little more sativa.
IMG_20250311_015306996.jpg
Both have a some pistils that have turned orange so I'm thinking the pollen might have worked.
Take care everyone and keep growing
