got a first timer here. thoughts please!!!

alright im new here, this my first post, i have been doin lots of research on here and just want to know what you think of my set up/idea and any thoughts or ideas are welcome and much appreciated !! now pause and hit your piece and than read further on.



aight here it goes, i have the aerogarden pro200 model. i am going to be using distiled water and the nutrients that came with the master gardener kit . i am going to get a 10" airstone to place in the reservoir, and going to get my ph up/down and test kit, digital thermometer and i am going to go with two extra cfl bulbs, one on each side . now my thought was to use some cardboard and make like a surround to go around the aerogarden, cover the cardboard in tin foil to reflect light better, and put a fan on one side blowing across the plants to get the stems stronger to support the plants, and have one on the other side blowing out like an exhaust fan. i ordered a 10 pack of joint doctor dwarf lowryder seeds. auto flowering and such so i can use the 24 hour light cycle thru-out the entire grow. that is all i have for now. thoughts, ideas, help? thanks yall now take anotha hit!!!

dont know much about the ag's, but alot of people seem to use them.. i think the idea of the auto's in them are nice, it should work out well for you..
the only negative that i may come up with is ditch the foil idea.. foil can cause hot spots, and burn your babies... if you do go with the cardbord around your plants like you were thinking, go ahead and just paint it a flat white or semi gloss white, and you will have much better results...
other than that, it sounds like you have it all figured out pretty much..

ok ok ya the paint sounds better than foil for that reason than. thanks appreciate it. if anyone else has anything to say i wanna hear it to! as its my first time i wanna be able to be as prepared as possible.

rather than the air stone i got whats called a bubble wand, its flexible and does the same thing as an airstone will this still work just as well?

you can use the ag nutrients, but i think you should buy some nutrients at a hydroponic store. i am growin from a ag rightnow also. i was using the ag nutrients but when i went to buy some at the hydroponic store. my plant became more strong and big.

I am the proud owner of AG 200 myself. I use it mostly for sprouting seeds using tap water and the supplied nutes. About half a big tab every two weeks. Soon as they grow a nice root and a real set of leaves I move them to 1 gallon Hempy Buckets and under a large bank of CFL's to veg. When they are done vegging they get moved under a 400 HPs and a few daylight CFL's to bloom still in the same bucket. I dont think there is enough room in the root section of an AG to do a full grow. The braggin pics I have seen of them being used for a full grow think the person was only growing one or two plants. That might work but would be a pain in the ass. The lights on the AG are worthless except for sprouting.

this thing is crazy i planted the tomato seeds in it til my seeds come just to check it out and they grow fuckin fast i cant even wait.

is 83.7 degrees to hot? thats what its at right now but thats without the extra lights, or fans so im assuming once i add my two fans it will lower but im just wondering if 83.7 would be to hot if the variables level out and it stays the same temp

i was thinking of this idea too! im gonna follow on this thread and see what happens,,oh and where can i buy a cheap ag? used or not used it doesnt matter as long as its working ? if anybody could find me a great deal that would be nice...Peace

ya i got mine off craigslist for 75 bucks haha hell of a deal it came wit a bunch a extra shit to. and im still waiting on the seeds they were shipped last tuesday so should be any day now!!! i cant wait

dude...if you can grow weed using 24 hours light cycle the entire grow you need to be selling that secret.......

oh yea dude you should check out my newest post called "new grow" and you can see it perfectly, and its only been 3 days!!

I am on my 2nd Aerogarden Pro200 Lowryder II Auto Grow. The temp of the reservoir and amount of light exposure to the res are of utmost importance. My first grow got way to hot and I got the rot.

Seriously stunned my 2x girls one did make it back to produce okay but the other is a near dud. So I speak from experience keep the Res Cool!!!

I would say no hotter then 75 degrees, the ideal being around 65 degrees. Also tape up any spot that lets any light into the unit anywhere.

Also I recommend you not use the supplied nutes. They work just OK. I started with the included nutes and moved to fox farms grow big and it made a world of difference. One other thing I hate about the supplied nutes is how cloudy they make the res.
