So I've been having a problem with gnats. I talked to the local pest guy when he came to work to do a service. He gave me a "spare" bug light they had and said to put it next to my "spider plants" in a dark room for a day and it would pretty much take care of it for me (may take longer he said) I was wondering if it would be okay to leave only this light on for say 24 hours then resume my normal light schedule. I wasn't sure the effect it will have on the plants. My plants are about 6 weeks old and still in the veg stage. I have had them on a 18/6 schedule. Let me know your thoughts I know I can't leave this on during the "dark" hours can I?? it is 2 black lights but still dont' think it's okay during "dark" Thanks :peace:
if your wondering where all my bulbs went they just got washed with insect soap :)

Crazy ass like you like it or like it's lame??? The bug light is sweet I think. Alright well that's good to know I wasn't sure if I could leave that on or not. It seems to give off a little "moon light" so I figured it maybe fine. Feel free to check out my album all kinds of pics of the grow and setup in there. Thanks again man :peace:

Not lame just krazy looking, aint nothing wrong with improvising. You only have to worry in the flowering cycle during the dark period.

Hey man Home Depot can be a guy's best friend. I have used clamp lights for the most part but think that I will end up getting some T8's and using a few less cfl's draped all over the place. I'm not worried about flowering, I figure by then I will thin down to a few less plants and can easily add additional lighting. The closet will be fairly easy to keep dark at night. I am going to change the venting slightly to allow no light to go through. The case is made of solid wood and should be fine.

alright well I've left this "bug light" on for the last few nights with limited luck looking at this here yellow glue strip I see about 6 bugs not the effectivness that I was hoping it would have. I believe the real problem lies in the soil......back to the drawing board

That is one of the main reasons I stay away from soil.
