got plenty of bud, but not getting high! :(

i did my grow in a cabinet with a homemade ebb and flow system. had 2 plants in a 3.5 sqft space under a 150w HPS. i ordered my seeds, cant remember where right now, but the strain is Mazar. i flowered for about 12 weeks, took a few weeks longer than the 8-9 i was hoping for. i got 3.25 oz dried and cured which was way more than i was expecting with a 150 watt light. i chopped it down january 20th, and started curing january 27th i think. it dried out pretty quick and the buds got pretty loose. but they are pretty crystally and smell really good. i didnt really test the bud at all until a few nights ago, but i can smoke almost an entire bowl and there is hardly any high from it at all. normally i can take one or 2 hits and im good for a while, even with stuff that isnt that great. i looked around for a while but didnt find this happening with anyone else.

the only thing i can think of that might have caused it was that i accidentally over-fertilized at like week 7 or 8. then i flushed with clearex after i noticed the burning, and ran with regular water til the end, and flushed with clearex once more around week 10.

i will try to add pictures of the bud later tonight, i dont have my pictures on my computer yet. but they look good except for being kinda loose.

i started these seeds october 1st and everything went great except for that one incident right at the end. so its been pretty disappointing finding out my pile of buds doesnt do anything.

could this be from the strain or did i mess up somewhere? im about to start flowering the next set of them, under a 400w hps this time with 6 plants under a screen. i dont want the same thing to happen again in 3-4 months.

12 weeks is too long for a mazar plant. That strain generally only goes for 8-9 I think. Maybe the buds were allowed to grow longer than they were supposed to and the thc is all degraded or something. After the thc is at it's peak is when you want to harvest after the trichomes start turning amber they degrade.

i took them down when they were about half amber, i posted on here a few times asking if it was ready...i thought it was too long at first too, but everyone kept telling me it could go longer and it was still growing =\

i agree you could have waited too long. get a good mag glass and check the trics they should be mostly cloudy with some amber.

i just got some more batteries for my microscope, i would guess about 2/3 of the trichomes are amber, the rest are cloudy. ive always heard and read that its best to harvest when they are about 50/50, i guess it would be better to have harvested too late than to just have a shitty strain that looks/smells nice but doesnt do anything.

It should still catch you a good 'couchlock buzz' at 75% amber. Hmm....maybe they sold you some shit seeds?

Have you sampled from different buds?

I'm going to go with a mutant strain of seeds that look like they have the goods, but have no substance... Try another strain my friend... Don't perservere with one that is just wasting your time... There are plenty of other top strains out there... Ditch the bitch and try again...

i think it could be the strain, i remember hearing from someone else that they were unimpressed by the smoke of their mazar buds...

mazar buds are great taste and high...prolly harvested too late. here is a pic of my outdoor mazar from last season. The one of the left is my mazar-i-shariff other nug is some unknown purple my buddy grew.

i say let them cure for a bit about 3 more weeks then go back to them and tell me how it works. I remember thats what happend on my first crop i sampled it about a week after drying and was like wtf then i cured for about 3 weeks more and passed out with a blunt on my lip haha.
