gray/red tint to new growth

On the top of two of my plants the new growth coming out has a gray ish color to it and is now showing a hint of red. the plant is around 3 weeks old. has anyone else had this happen. its under cfl lights, i have been giving it a low dosage of nutrients and keeping it well watered. it was hard to get pictures but they show the idea.

That could be related to the strain your growing. is it a purp?

sometimes it's genes....I got the same thing going on right now with some purple mikados...and they're all doing it so it's more than likely genetics.
