GreenCrack/Northernlights: Indoor>outdoor (Northeast US)

hello all, so ill start with my ghetto setup. The first two weeks of these three plants lives (green crack, NL,NL) they stayed by my windowsill which is a panoramic south facing window so its lit up all day, but even that cannot fend off the stretch and leaning caused by window growing. So I quickly lined a Rubbermaid tub with foil cut a vent hole popped a hole for wires and viola. Im using a 200watt cfl with a reflective hood (ik ik ghetto af) but hey, total of $0 invested. they've been inside the box for about a week now and the growth has been acceptable for the amount of light ive been providing. they are about 5-6inches tall and on the 4th node. I recently read that it isn't healthy to HST plants after the 5th node so I made a decision and fimmed the green crack and topped one of the northernlights. I think I fucked up the fim but the topping went well, two shoots created from one, but the fim just looks like a mess of deformed leaves. im not sure if I did it correctly or what but either way you learn from mistakes right. so anyways, once I get passed this dreadful frost risk (so about may 10th) im going to take these babies and put them out and that's when im going to use the box to mass produce seedlings for the outdoors. I will most likely grow them for 2-3 weeks before putting them out. my plan is to keep putting plants out as much as possible most likely until mid july. then switch my box over to housing maybe two girls for an indoor crop. (with improved lighting of course) All feedback is welcome, I mean id love to hear some helpful info but "you dumbass noob" is also welcome for you trolls out there that cant resist ;). ill post pics once im able. Thanks all.

I like topping when the 6th node appears. I chop it down to the 4th and end up with 4 mains and the other nodes grow up to make a big bush.

I agree completly with you redbeard420... topping at the 4th node right after the 6th node appears makes all my topped plants bush out... except for some of those crazy phenotypes out there and depending on the strain. Bushy if indica dom, can get bushy if sativa dom as well, but nothing like a bushy indica though...

Your seedlings that you plan on mass producing to grow outside are a waste of time, for now. Second, I wouldn't fim or cut unless you have the lighting for the plants to recover, otherwise you will simply be damaging the plant, and your lighting sounds marginal for 3 plants . I would have just let your plants go without fucking with them, until you get the proper lighting to fuck with them, and also the time involved to do so. Next time, or soon, buy a quick easy seed like the Blue OG that is very quick to finish (8 weeks done),forget the window sill, use a closet lined with reflective 1/2" insulating board, and actually use your 200 CFL center, and add 4 - 65W side lights, and there you go for 1 serious plant, maybe 3. Me, myself, I would forget about the great outdoors, unless you cant grow inside, which you apparently can. Peace

We all start from the same place, which means dumb as shit. Only way out is asking questions, making mistakes and learning from them.

My sativas bush out pretty good actually. The Aphrodite that im running is kind of my mainstay for tbe time being. Love the pine flavor and the sticky nugs. Her genetics contain mostly jack herer so potency is up there. I have fairly good luck topping these girls. Only 4 in the flower room currently. 2 topped and 2 not.

Thank you man! I have a thread for this grow. I plan on taking a couple new pics tomorrow to post. Last couple days the buds have really started filling in. For real you should watch this grow. These are some of the healthiest iv grown yet. I believe in topping the strains that respond well to it. I treat my garden like a loving family member who needs taken care of....like my children or something lol. Here's a couple more " glamor" shots lol....from a few days ago. Resin starting to come in. Makes your fingers smell like pinesol. 20140502_222155.jpg20140502_222044.jpg 20140502_221756.jpg 20140502_221824.jpg
