greenhouseseeds growing technique?

right whenever I watch the new grow guide arjian and the other guy always babbles on about how you should dry out your roots for 5 days... Im not a genius but turning off my pumps for 5 days sounds like a really bad idea lol

has anybody actually tried there techniques?

Personally, I wouldn't take much of anything Arjan says seriously. I get such a bad vibe from some of the folks at GHS.

That being said, I've never heard of that technique though. Whether it works or not, I don't know.

you can find any of there grows on youtube mate they test all there strains and show you how to get best results

I really wana know whos tried it before does it actually help... I dont really want to find out lol

I haven't tried it, but sounds like a bad idea.

Did a quick google search and the theory behind this is the dry medium causes the roots to stretch out and look for water. So theoretically you get more root growth.

I'd think you'd get less foliage growth and overall less growth/yield due to lack of water/nutes. Not to mention you're stressing your plants in the middle of flowering.

Just because they do something and it works out with good results in the end doesn't mean its a good idea. They'd probably get better results if they didn't do this.

Who knows though, not going to say its impossible that its good for your plants or actually helps. To me it just sounds like a terribly stupid idea with no real logic behind it.

Why dont you try it on a single plant and see.

ive done.it but for only 3 days and you do see a explosion of new growth after jusy the first day.... I dont want to loose any of my babies so im scared to go all the way to 5 days of no pumps on lol....

dont they grow their plants in giant pots of rockwool cubes? the method makes sense for such a setup.... the media holds a ton of water and allowing the media time to mostly dry between waterings makes the roots search out the moist media resulting in better root systems. also lets air in between waterings.

in school we were told many times that watering your gardens or lawns once weekly and doing so thoroughly is much better than watering daily with less water. makes for much healthier deeper root systems and stronger plants. obviously not the same thing but the principle is applicable
