09012019 WEEK 1:
feel free to critique, leave comments, anything really. Hope you all enjoy!
this grow journal will not be done on a week by week for the first 2 months as I just discovered this website. Stuff from previous dates were recorded in a written journal. Last few weeks in flowering will be documented accordingly.
  • Coco/perlite mix in a ratio of about 50/50
  • 4x 288.2 LED w/ 480W meanwell driver (Atreum lighting)
  • 4x4 tent, 4" AC infinity & carbon filter
as a noob i was completely ecstatic to begin my first grow and helicoptered the hell out of them for the first month or so. I have definitely learned my lesson and I'm not even finished with the grow yet but it's best to let them be!

09012019: seed soaked in paper towel in ziplock with pH'd water approx 6-6.1
09032019: sprouted in jiffy pellet with pH'd water 6.2 (no nutes) & placed in humidity dome. seem to have fertigated twice since I read thats what coco is supposed to be fed, not realizing this was to my detriment!
09062019: transferred into a fabric bag of coco/perlite mix.

followed nute schedule from cocoforcannabis and used GH nutes as suggested. At this point I was fertigating twice a day, as I read up that you're not supposed to let the coco dry out and proceeded to overwater. At this point I was not aware I was harming the plant!! (lesson learned).

I was unsure if it was bad genetics or because of the poor conditions she was under (over watering) but the seed seemed to be mutated. I wasn't sure if it would affect the plant in the long run but was curious to see how it would wind up.
As you can see, the overwatering was pretty severe. I believe at this point I stopped watering and waited till they perked up the next week.

so as you can see, there is a month gap between the postings, I became very busy with work and did not record pictures or any info on the plants. I barely took care of them honestly as my life was consumed but fed them here and there.
Right in picture is Tangerine Dream, the left is King's Kush.
I realize now I should have LST'd more and defoliated earlier.

I saw how well they were doing and started taking the grow seriously (again). They both held up well to feeding schedules that were pretty spaced out so that was an interesting characteristic I found. Still hadn't defoliated at this point (obviously) but they were growing!

On 11012019 I flipped them to flower!

wow she smells! when the tent is closed there is no odor but once it opens, it smells for a bit and can be smelled in other rooms/floors! She's looking beautiful and I defoliated some to allow the light to penetrate further into the canopy. I also removed some smaller branches as i figured they wouldn't grow too big anyways since I defoliated pretty late. Progressing nicely!

seems to have some yellowing leaves and some of the buds smelled a bit off and i'm not sure why. I cut off that branch and moved forward. wasn't sure if it was just be being paranoid but rather safe than sorry i suppose. yield loss but nervous it was something bad so chop chop it went!
