I have a 3ft wide, 2ft deep by 6ft tall grow box that I will use canvas instead of doors. I plan to use a 4in inline duct fan, should I use small intake fans at the bottom, or just 3in diameter holes. Need ideas.

In that small an area, you shouldn't need intake fans. I would put the money into a decent exhaust fan/filter combo (more CFM than you need), so you can dial it down and adjust it. That will provide passive intake, so long as you have holes or venting in the lower portion of your cabinet. Depending on your layout, put a couple of PC fans or a clamp, oscillating fan in there to assist in circulation around the plants. It is up to you, and depends on how crazy you want to get with HEPA filters, CO2, etc.
