Ok locally i have a Home Depot, a Menards, and an Ace Hardware. At which store can i most likely find the grow light, hps 250 with ballast and all the goodies i need.??? I only have cash to buy my light so i cant order online..:-(

I need to know where to go, anybody know of stores that carry these lights.?

I kinda doubt it, and you'd pay out the butt . . . but if you can't order on-line you might look at an electricians supply house?
I'd think I could get 2 entire 600-1000W set-ups from HTG Supply for what you might end up paying locally. No local hydro store?

Ohh thanks alot, i just got an idea i know some electricians.

i figure these lights are going to be more in places that supply gardeners right?

Well, hps are basically street lights, so wherever your town is getting those?
As garden supplies, it's more expensive, I'd think? (Because it's "hi tech" in gardening, and just HID lighting in construction?)

you could use the cash to buy a prepaid visa gift card and then order your light online. i used to work at home depot and they don't have anything useful for growing.

Go to the post office and get a money order, then mail it to HTG. You won't find what you are looking for a Home Depot or any other hardware store. These lights are made specifically for growing and are not readily available at electrical supply houses or hardware stores.

Even for a 250w, try to get a light where the ballast is separate from the fixture. That offers better heat control options. Then figure how to buy from a vendor that offers such items. Home Depot offers some decent T5 HO fixtures but I don't see a 250w HPS horizontal with a separate ballast.
