if i start my babys off in 3g pots, will i need to transplant them by the end of my flowering period?

It depends on how long you are going to veg them, but putting them right into 3 gallon plants is not the best thing to do.

I transplant my plants 3 times.

1st - clones to 16 oz party cup

When we have lots of roots, like almost root bound, I put them in the next larger pot and they explode.

2nd - 16 oz party cup to 1 gallon pot

3rd - 1 gallon pot to 3 gallon pot about a week or so before I plan on flowering.

That's what I do, they are harvested from the 3 gallon pots,:weed:

Rule of thumb: 1 Gallon for every foot of growth.

1Gal pot - 12-18inch plant
2Gal pot - 18-30inch plant
3Gal pot - 30-42inch plant
5Gal pot - 42inches +
