Grow question

Hey all,

I have 3 plants, 12 weeks into veg from seed in a 4x4x7 tent. I have a Hood that is now raised to the top with two HPs lights in it that were given to me. I am not sure what the lights are but they are bright - here's a photo from a previous post: (https://www.rollitup.org/t/second-attempt.1059120/#lg=post-16452526&slide=2)

The question is, one of the plants is shorter than the two and I am not sure how many inches from the lights until I change the lights to flower cycle? Should I cut the two taller ones to match the height of the short one then switch em all to flower when its time, or should I just flip them all to flower at once and hope it stretches when its time? Is it time now? From everything I read I still have more veg time left and this seems a bit early to flower?

2 of the plants are 18" from touching the literal lights inside the hood with their tallest parts. The third plant is about 8 inches shorter than the other 2. I started the shorter plant about 2 weeks after other 2 plants.

How many inches before touching the lights or hood should I change to flower?

Thanks in advance,

-Matt

It's up to you. If you cut them shorter I would wait until you see new growth to flip to flower. I would recommend trying to tie down the branches and LST / Mainline the lanky ones.
Not sure about the height from the lights since I run LEDS but most strains I run damn near double in height during stretch. I veg for about 6-12 weeks myself.

Going on 7 weeks since I flipped 12/12 lights. Almost ready?

I snipped a test bud and let it dry for 2 days then jarred it for another 2 days with periodically opening it.

It is still growing. More white hairs than not so I am still waiting... More milky than amber trichomes also.

I did start the flush already.

10 weeks(12 weeks from 12/12 cycle flip) will be on Samhain. I am guessing that will be harvest day since these are Sativas.

That premie nug wasnt bad actually. A little grassy tasting yeah since it didnt have much time to cure but it was stoney. Definitely worth being patient tho.

Made some Super Lemon Haze concentrate as a test yesterday from one of the plants I grew above:

350ML 190 Proof Everclear
20G Super Lemon Haze -Flower (non decarboxylated)

I did 3 separate 30 second swirls in a mason jar with the frozen flower using about 100ml of Everclear for each swirl. After freezing everything overnight, I poured the liquid from each swirl session into a glass pyrex measuring cup with a presoaked with Everclear coffee filter on top. Then after letting it filter in the freezer, I poured the filtered liquid into an 8x8 pyrex. I added all three swirl sessions into the same 8x8 pyrex then set it up in my backyard over a hotplate. I covered the pyrex with a paper towel. I added a fan to blow into the pores of the paper towel also to help aid in evap.

It took 8 hours to fully evap and at the end of the 8 hours it was almost completely dry to the bone, I cranked the hotplate up to a 5 from a 3 and let it go for about 30 minutes after there was no more visible water (white residue). The pyrex was almost too hot to handle but only on the very very bottom when the hotplate was at a 5. I could still hold the pyrex and even put my hand on the very bottom and hold it there for about 5 seconds so I could guess it never got hotter than 130-140F.

After 30 -an hour more of the high setting, I took it inside to scrape. Something happened and I had to walk away so it cooled down to about 70F.

I tried to scrape it with a razer blade, there was a good amount of amber material across the pyrex and it broke like a geode or peanut brittle or a jolly rancher like material.

I turned on my stove burner and just held the pyrex above it with my hands until it all warmed back up. I was able to razor blade about 85% of it onto parchment pretty easily. I stuck the pyrex in the freezer over night and in the morning scraped the remaining with a razorblade which turned it into powder since it was all still very cold. I took the pile of powder and it squeezed into a ball and I added it to the rest. After it all cools down its like 2X harder than shatter normally is. I took a dab last night and I was very happy with the result.
