Grow room floors!

I'm building a new grow room and I've noticed that the grows that I've been to have stains on there floors from defoliating and then stepping on the leaves. Is there any type of floor that would prevent this or something that would help other than just not stepping on the leaves?

Do you stay awake at night thinking about this? What is the surface you're working with?

Concrete. I'm just wondering if people use some kind of special paint to keep there shit so clean or is just being extra careful to not cause stains in the first place.

Epoxy paint. You must acid wash the surface of existing concrete. It's scarier sounding than it is. Used in mechanic shops. You can even buff the stuff. Lowe's has it. Again it must be etched with a muriatic acid solution prior to applying the paint.
 
You can get an epoxy coating made specifically for concrete. One of these days I'm going to do the slab in my garage. I know a few people that did it themselves and it turned out great.

From shop experience I suggest adding the colorful little pieces of whatever for traction when it's wet. It is slick!

Thank you that's exactly what I was looking for do you guys think this would help preventing stains?

Eye protection and gloves.

I remember working as a Hod Carrier for a bricklaying company many years ago. We'd splash diluted muriatic acid around like it was water when cleaning brickwork. We'd dump some in a bucket add water and scrub away without any eye protection or gloves. I wouldn't think of doing that now.

Cheap rubber boots too. Keep them for use later. Acid won't ruin them.

With a wire brush! Used to be a pump truck operator for foam concrete. We used it on everything. OSHA would shit now. For good reasons.
 
Toss in another vote for an Epoxy floor. Even in my micro-grow closet I got some cheap(ish) countertop Epoxy from Lowes and put it on the "floor" of my 2X3 flower room. Just for good measure I put the HLG sticker that came with my LED on the floor first and added some glitter in the epoxy to make it fun.

My floor is just piece of 3/4" melamine board, so it only took about 10 minutes to pour and around 48 hours to fully cure, as the 4th floor for my closet grow, it's officially lasted the longest without rebuilding or refinishing in some way.
 
I wished I could remember the name of this stuff.. I'll have to get back with you on it. But I got it at a Janitorial Shop. No acid etching, just a good cleaning/scrubbing, and mopping.. but you just dump some in an area, and take a wide micro fiber mop and spread it around. It may take 6 coats for it to look like this, but it's a good concrete sealer, and it's like $35 for a gallon, and will cover this much area or more. Drying time between coats is about 30 min. The is in our mother room, but we used it in the grow room too. You may have to re-coat it once every year or so, but very cheap and easy to do.
EDIT: Thinking back on it.... we covered 1400 sq ft with 2 gallons, so yeah, I goes a long ways. It will dull out with alot of foot traffic, but alls you need to do is mop, and add a couple more coats every year or so. No fumes.
