Those are some big questions man. Do some searching on your state's gov website. There are also forums on here, sorted by state which may be of use to you.

Mike is right, you need local knowledge. In my state I found an advocacy group that was really helpful as far as getting involved with the medical MJ program. One thing that's big here and may or may not be anything where you are; they don't want people doing it for a living. I have one patient, and it's a blood relative. I was told that the state doesn't want it to turn into Amsterdam on the East Coast, and that a case like mine is exactly what they do want. People doing it for reasons other than money. May or may not be aplicable to where you are, but you may not want to mention your desire to do it for a living. That said, you may want to look into what there is in your state as far as MMJ advocacy groups who may be able to help walk you through the process.

depends how good you are your not gonna be raking in the doe with your first grow. if you do really good and you have great mother plants it won't be hard at all. but its gonna take a good amount of cash to start up and you won't make a dime for atleast three months so your gonna need to buy all the equipment, electricity, food, nutes everything you need to live and grow for the first 3-5 months before you make anything. but if you start out outdoors it won't cost you too much just seeds, some nutrients, soil, water and your good to go but the limits are gonna kill you. it would really be easier to start out illegally basically fuck the law aint no man gonna tell me how to live. lol
