Growing in the desert

So i just recently moved to the high desert in california and temps are rarely under 100 degrees here. My babys are only a couple weeks old and are probably about a foot tall. My question is how do i keep them from getting heat stress. because its literally almost 100 here by 10 in the morning. I hear you have to keep the roots cool and such but there in 3 galons right now untill i transfer them to the 10s and the pots heat up pretty quickly. anyone have any suggestions that will help me ? i have grown before but only have done indoor . should i be watering everyday to keep the roots cool?

Put them in raised beds if you can, it will keep the roots cooler. Or paint containers white if that's not an option. You can also use shade cloth set up so it shields them from the sun during the peak heat of the day.

You guys said it. All my various plants are loving the shade cloth. Haven't had a single sign of heat stress yet, but we're just starting to get hot here. 103 today, high of 112 tomorrow.

Plants love the heat! They are gunna be huge!
